If the economy isn't better by 2012 Obama shouldn't run for re-election.

...But the economy will be better by 2012. Does anyone with a brain dispute that?

Also, his mantra has always been more about long term solutions. A President focused only on the election cycle would have never gotten Health Care reform passed.

It's already better than it was when he took office, we are just waiting for hiring to become a necessity again.

Nothing that Obama has done has improved the economy.
However, it will EVENTUALLY get better.....everything runs in cycles.
If only Obama can hang around long enough, he can take credit for that.

You can make an argument about cost effectiveness all you like but the facts are the facts.

Not really true. The stimulus did create jobs and created an artifical bottom to the recession. To say that "Obama didn't help" is stupid because there were more people working with it than without it. Also, the TARP stuff kept banks afloat, and the GM buyout helped a lot of those people keep their jobs as well as those of their suppliers.
You can make an argument about cost effectiveness all you like but the facts are the facts.
Umm..Socialist!
