The legendary Sparky Anderson passed away today. You baseball history buffs may not know but Sparky at one time coached a minor league team in Rock Hill SC way back in the day.
Great ball coach.
RIP
So long Sparky

Being a life long Reds fan there will never be another George "Sparky" Anderson.
I hope that they berry him with both his REDS and Tigers jerseys.
RIP Sparky!

Joe Menzer used to cover the Panthers for one of the local papers and now is a writer for nascar.com. He was an up-and-coming sportswriter in Cincinnati who talked to Sparky one day. He said Sparky took him under his wing and told him all kinds of stories about the Big Red Machine. Must have been pretty cool.

Rest in peace, Mr. Anderson. You have given us Reds fans a lot over the years. Thank you.
