Rush is just being Rush. Harsher things were said about Bush. Some were untrue and some were. I don't want our President to fail because then we fail. He is our chosen leader. Just like Bush was. The left screamed and the right smiled. Now the tables are turned. Why give Rush a thought? Did you think he was going to bury the hatchet? Cookingwithgas...have you been sniffing that gas again? Whacko Christian? Check your history book and remember that our nation was founded on Christian beliefs. North Carolina is in the "bible belt" so you might want to take it easy bashing Christians. Its bad form. Everyone is entittled to their own religious choices. Also, since everyone hated Bush why did he get a 90% approval rating following 9/11? Bush made mistakes that cost him and his party but not everyone was opposed as you say.

Ooh, I am in bad form. I feel soooooo dirty. Almost as liberating as having a hose shoved up the caboose!

My history book says that there is an explicit separation between church and state, and we used both Greco-Roman and European influences on our legal system. If we founded the nation on Christian beliefs, every crime would result in the sentence of "turning the other cheek".

Are you a whacko Christian? Or just a regular one? I only bash the whacko ones - though I have no problem arguing philosophy with either variety; you see, it's a free country, even in NC.

Liberals were hoping that the surge would fail in Iraq, so it would make the Bush Administration look even worse. Not defending Rush ... he's an extremist idiot ... but there's not much difference in the thinking here.

Anyone hoping the surge would fail is an idiot as well.

Obama is the best thing that ever happened to Rush since Clinton.

He's an entertainer.
A bad one, but an entertainer.

In a similar way, the best thing that ever happened to pisspoor latenite comedians and standup jerkoffs alike was Bush.
They'll miss him.

Letterman is still making fun of Bush. He was the subject of his top 10 list last night.

That'll get stale soon.

He was like a fountain of material every time he opened his mouth.
Now those d-bags will actually have to use some creativity.

Why don't you actually quote what Rush really said? Here's the part of the interview transcript ... really, really read what he said .... (note: emphasis mine)

HANNITY: Coming off record-ratings year for you, but you are a passionate conservative. You've defined conservatives for many people in this country for years. He represents the antithesis in terms of his worldview. So then the question becomes: Do you want him to succeed?

RUSH: Now, this... (turns to camera) I am so glad that he asked me that question. (turns back to Hannity) I am so glad that you asked me this question.

HANNITY: I'm glad to. (chuckles)

RUSH: I'll tell you why. I am hearing many Republicans say that very thing. "Well, we want him to succeed," and prominent Republicans! "Yes, we want him to succeed." They have laid down. They have totally. They're drinking the Kool-Aid, too. They have no guts to stand up for what their beliefs are because they're afraid of criticism. They're afraid of being called racists. They're afraid of not having gotten with the program. Now success can be defined two ways. I said earlier, "I don't know about this guy." I really don't. I've got my suspicions and they're pretty close to convictions, but we're going to have to wait to see what he does. Now if he turns out to be a Reagan, if he adds Reagan to his recipe of FDR and Lincoln --

HANNITY: (laughing)

RUSH: -- and if he does cut some taxes --

HANNITY: Yeah.

RUSH: -- if he does not eliminate the Bush tax cuts, I would call that success. So yes, I would hope he would succeed if he acts like Reagan. But if he's going to do FDR -- if he's going to do The New New Deal all over, which we will call here The Raw Deal -- why would I want him to succeed? Look, he's my president. The fact that he is historic is irrelevant to me now. It matters not at all. If he is going to implement a far-left agenda... Look, I think it's already decided: a $2 trillion in stimulus? The growth of government? I think the intent here is to create as many dependant Americans as possible looking to government for their hope and salvation. If he gets nationalized health care, I mean, it's over, Sean. We're never going to roll that back. That's the end of America as we have known it, because that's then going to set the stage for everything being government owned, operated, or provided. Why would I want that to succeed? I don't believe in that. I know that's not how this country is going to be great in the future; it's not what made this country great. So I shamelessly say, "No! I want him to fail." If his agenda is a far-left collectivism -- some people say socialism -- as a conservative heartfelt, deeply, why would I want socialism to succeed?

So basically, If Obama just does what Bush tried to do, he'd be "successful". Great logic there Rush.

Put me in the same camp.

If Obama wants to take the country towards socialism, I hope he fails too.

I will be there as well.

If more government control is on the horizon for any reason, I want some failure. If cutting back government (much like the cutting back that all of us are having to do) is on the horizon, well then I hope he is a historical success.

I will always go back to the way I feel however. He is my President, and although I do not agree with much of what he preaches, I will still stand behind him and up for this country.

I hope he is a good president and does a good job running the country, but I hope he fails at trying to implement some of the policies he desires.
