We've got a baby coming in March, and my wife wants to move the dog outside when the baby gets here. She's concerned that all the dog hair and pet dander could make breathing more difficult for the child, but I really don't want to put the dog outside unless I really have to.

People have dogs and babies living together in harmony all the time, right?

umm, yeah. Our Pediatrician said it would be better for our son to be exposed to dander and hair (within reason) than not.

We actually went and adopted a puppy today. In Raleigh they had a special for $25. Included micro chip and spay and all shots ect. Won't get to pick her up until after they spay her on the first.

It will be tough, but try really hard to keep her nails trimmed. For some reason Bulldogs nails grow very long and very thick.

Go ahead and get some nail cutters (good ones) and teach yourself and her to deal with it.

Thanks for the advice! I'm gonna cut her nails today.

I got to play with the cutest bloodhound puppy on Thanksgiving. Her feet were huge, lanky legs and sometimes when she'd run she would trip and topple over herself. So much fun to watch.

My sailing buddy bought a new pet for his step-daughter. His name is Capt' Jack "Rat" (one eyed). Hey, it's what she wanted. Rats are actually smarter that guinea pigs, hamsters and mice. I thought it was weird at first but the little fella grows on you. It's funny watching a rat come when you call his name.
