His agent Jimmy Sexton told Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer that there have been no meaningful contract negotiations between the two sides. That’s no surprise for anyone that has watched how the Panthers have conducted business of late

1st rule, ignore profootballtalk.com - it's a tabloid.

The whole premise of this stupid write-up is that DeAngelo might be free because there have been no contract negotiations. The author fails to realize the Panthers haven't talked contract with ANYONE yet because they are waiting to see what the new CBA looks like.

Once this season is over DWill will be the first player resigned.

This. He would not have been IR'd unless they wanted him back.

I don't know, Kalil might be deemed more important.

I have it on good authority that we are set to push forward without him, with Stewart, Goodson, and Sutton...

if they let Peppers and then Williams both just walk out the door getting nothing for them......then Carolina is legitimately on its way to being a poor franchise. People can spout "build through the draft" all they want. Good teams don't let top talent walk and get nothing.

push forward with Stewart? the guy hasn't participated in a training camp since hes been here and has been injured most of the time, hes had one decent 2nd half of a season. Hes just injury prone. A Power back thats injury prone, wont cut it in the NFL.
