The day we lose Williams I will die a little inside. The day we loose Smith I will die a lot inside. I fear for the future of our team.

Players come, players go. Its a fact of life in pro sports. get over it.

teams don't just let one of the best players at their positions walk for nothing.

and don't bring up Peppers; he openly voiced his desire to get out of Carolina. as far as I know DeAngelo hasn't said a word about wanting to leave.

Theres something about stewart i really dont care for i think he's lazy or football is not his main love something idk

I am all for trading Stewart while he still has value and resigning Williams.

This. He would not have been IR'd unless they wanted him back.

What does that have anything to do with them keeping him? Maybe he said "the hell with playing for this sorry ass team" and said he wasn't playing another snap this year so they put him on IR so it wouldn't look so bad to the media......

Thomas Davis said the FO told him they would resign him. It sounds like DWill hasn't heard anything. At least Davis has talked with them at least about coming back.

Davis was in a totally different situation than DeAngelo when the FO had that conversation with him.

I guess but it seems weird that they "assured" him he would be a Panther and haven't assured D-Will anything.

Maybe D-Will doesn't want to be assured of being a Panther but instead wants to be assured a ring and thinks he has to go elsewhere to get it before his days are done. GB or Indy would be some stops.

I don't see Deangelo saying that (if only because it's a contract year), and I don't see Carolina IR-ing him if they weren't interested in his 100% health next year. Regardless of all the conspiracies flying around about aiming to lose, hard to believe they'd shut down one of their only offensive weapons, especially with Stewart struggling as he has, if they were just going to let him walk.

Davis has had no "meaningful contract negotiations" either. That doesn't mean that they haven't assured Williams that he will be offered them.

PFT IS TRASH. It's the Perez Hilton of the NFL. Ignore it at all costs.

I would think he is ready to move on.
