I'm not at all upset at letting Marshall go at the price he thinks he is worth. Where should we go at 2nd CB to improve the team?

Champ Bailey could hold down the #2 spot just dandy. He would have plenty to teach our young DB's as well.

I doubt he would cost anymore than what Marshall wants.

Even if we retain all of our upcoming FAs we'll have enough cap room to get him most likely.

I like the Champ Bailey idea!

I figured a CB would be drafted sometime around the 5th or later and let them battle it out.

if somehow we get screwed out of the #1 pick or luck doesn't enter the draft or we find that clausen is an uberstud (lol), peterson is my top pick for us. the dude is going to be incredible not just as a CB, but as a punt returner.

btw...it's a good thing fox won't be here if we did manage to draft him. he'd probably try to play him as a linebacker or something.

They should move Marshall to nickel, godfrey to cb2 and just start Pugh.

Marshall is playing like he doesnt want to get hurt. Can't really blame him, but he's going to go to the highest bidder next year and godfrey is a disaster at safety.

Put him back at his natural position.

i agree, been saying that for a while. put Godfrey back at cb because he sucks at safety.

i'm gonna be interested to see how much marshall actually goes for because from my understanding he's not worth much outside of our system.

IMO Marshall is more of a liability than an asset.

Until our D-Line gets to the QB, it doesn't matter who starts at CB. We never replaced Kris Jenkins, and we need a big DT upfront to free up Beason and the other LB's. When that happens our defense will be top 5.

Unfortunately Captain is held back by his size.

He'll have a great little career for the Panthers. He'll be a special teams captain (lol) some day. He'll never be more than a nickel/dime back.

Nah, Marshall is good in any system. He predates Meeks, remember.

Marshall's greatest asset was how good of a tackler he was. This year, he's playing like he doesn't want to get hurt. You'll notice he used to go pad to pad with whoever and didn't give a fug at all.

Now, he's arm tackling, or diving at people's knees/ankles, and he just sucks at it. On top of that, it's affected the rest of his game. You don't all of a sudden forget how to cover.

Do you think he's doing that because of the new helmet to helmet rule? He might be holding back because he doesn't want to be pentalized/fined. Just an observation.
