All he does is kick the football, that's it. That's his only job. Therefore, I feel it's more expected that a place kicker make kicks everytime except for extreme adverse conditions or being out of range.

Having said that, to reiterate what others have said, he isn't the only reason we lost. But his foot had complete control of winning the game and he didn't do it.

I feel people, especially NFL football players, over simplify the kicker's job.. it is a true statement that all they have to do is kick the ball.. but because you have one simple job doesn't mean a human being is going to be perfect every time they touch the ball..

look at his stats, that's as close to perfect as you get.. however, he is going to miss a FG from time to time.. that's how poo turns out sometimes..

Our offense should have been more productive (putting up points) and our defense should have played better in the first half. And it wouldn't have come down to Kasey's kick.

Get over it already.

Bitch and moan about Kasey's missed kick all you want to, he's still one of the most accurate kickers in the league.

kasey?? Really?

Also, using this logic you could say that Jimmy should have never had to make a late game drive because KasAy should have made the other FG.

I think that's why Fox doesn't put the blame on any one person.. the team lost that game, not just Kasay..

i'll buy this. it was a whole team failure. the whole game didn't hinge on one kick. it hinged on one team sucking more than the other. offense can't put up enough points and the defense can't stop them. thats why th panthers lost yesterday.

browns are a bad team and were led by a bad QB and we just proved to be worse. game over.

Glad to see there are still people who get upset over a simple spelling error. Keep beating your drum Grammar Hammer...you'll be cool one of these days.

Jimmy Clausen should learn to throw a deep pass. It's not difficult. Even Delhomme can do it.

blaming Kasay is dumb. Carolina's offense again didn't do their job. They asked Kasay to come out 5 times to kick 40 + yard field goals. You ask a kicker to come out 5 times from that distance in a game and he is gonna miss sometimes.

Maybe if Clausen would have done something besides being unproductive the entire game we could have won. People always put too much focus on the very end of the game. All the plays before matter as well.

Haha whatever dude, Kasay is one of the better kickers ever and you can't even be bothered to spell his name right.

"simple spelling error"

I love when people fall on the "grammar hammer" excuse when they just don't know how to spell properly.

"A 20-year vet? When the game's on the line, I'm riding with him every day," said rookie wide receiver Brandon LaFell, who hauled in a 28-yard catch to set up Kasay's potential game-winner. "If we could go back and do it again, I'm sure he would hit it. If we're in the same situation next week, he'll hit it."

"It doesn't come down to that play. I look at myself first, and there were some plays out there where I could have definitely changed the outcome," said Beason, who locked in on his missed opportunity to stop running back Peyton Hillis on a third-and-10 pass play that opened the door for what proved the game-winning field goal. "A captain makes that play. An All-Pro makes that play
"If I was as half as consistent as he is, I'd be a Hall of Famer already."

I agree with these guys.

Dude, you are the one going off all on a man's spelling. Nevermind I was typing quickly, and used a spelling that is also used, and in fact, is more common.

I made a simple spelling error, and all you can do is beat off on yourself.

In a season like this, why would you ever call out one specific player, especially one who has done so much for the team? All that is going to do is lose you the locker room.

t19th this year

http://www.nfl.com/s...=0&d-447263-p=1

he's 1 of 5 guys who have attempted 10 or more FG's from 40-49 yards out.. of those guys: 1 has only missed 1 FG.. 2 have missed 2 FGs.. Kasay and 1 other has missed 3..

he's 3 for 4 from 50+ yards out.. only one guy ties him who has 4 attempts.. most kickers have 1 or 2 attempts from that distance..

for a guy who has kicked a lot of longer FGs, I can see why he might have been pushed back to 19th overall..

there are quite a few good kickers in the NFL.. really, people are splitting hairs on the first 5.. Everyone has their own opinion, and if you think he's sitting outside those 5, he isn't sitting that far away..
