Do you remember....

Schaefer and the Eggman (Eggman did top five lists and the station they were on played oldies....switched to Christmas music without warning one year and they were gone)

That huge store on South and Woodlawn that sold books, magazines, music and musical instruments, and video games?

Planet Grill on East Blvd, across from that Greek chain and adjoined with Caribou Coffee? They served a mongolian buffet.

Got any others?

Circa 1991 one of the local rock radios stations became a Led Zeppelin only station for like a week. then it switched to Zeppelin, U2 and somebody else for a few days.

Can't remember which one. I was a freshman at Davidson at the time and thought it was about the coolest thing.

WGSP, the classic rock AM station that went away circa 1985.
Watching the Shrine Bowl at that old stadium down by CPCC.
"Uncle" Jim Patterson, weatherman at WBT who died in 1985.

Me, too. The guy opened a second restaurant on the north side of town and stretched himself too thin. He had a line getting in the door every day around noon.

Don't remember the movie theater, but I remember Midtown Square.

Remember when the Panthers were awarded the franchise and news stations had to go to Sandwich Construction Co. at University to find a bar full of people celebrating it? There were no bars downtown, well, maybe one, and nobdody was at it by 11pm opening of the news.

Remember the JFG sign downtown?

Media Play

Yes. I made one of the worst concoctions known to man, and my dad made me eat it anyway because it cost like $18.

Remember when cotswold had an actual indoors mall with a food court?

Allstars and Spoons, bitch.

Remember when Colony Road ended at Carmel?

Remember when South Park Mall had a Woolworth's and a Hovan?

Remember Wad's before it became a 90's version of a 50's diner?

Remember Park Place Pharmacy?

Remember EC Griffith and LC Caudle Little League fields on Randolph Rd?

I once bought a keyboard for 200 bucks on my way out of the store. Total impulse buy. I've played it like 10 times in six years.
