Top Bowl Performances (Junior and Seniors, Panthers Prospects)

So, I did this last year but hadn't planned on doing it this year because I didn't think I would have time. However, I have a little more time on my hands then I thought and I received some good feedback last year when I did this. This is for the sole purpose of seeing how some of the lesser known players all the way up to the well known players perform in their biggest game of the season. Some of these players could end up in a Panthers uniform so keep an eye out for these guys. I will update this page for each game.

BYU vs. UTEP (BYU wins 52-24)
BYU (SS)- Andrew Rich: 5 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 interceptions, 1 pass broken up.
UTEP (WR)- Kris Adams: 3 receptions, 153 yards, 3 touchdowns.
UTEP (DB)- Winston Jeune: 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble.

Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State (Northern Illinois wins 40-17)
Northern Illinois (QB)- Chandler Harnish: 17/26, 300 yards, 1 touchdown. Rushing Stats: 10 carries, 72 yards, 2 touchdowns.
Northern Illinois (DE)- Jake Coffman: 6 tackles, 3 sacks, 4.5 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble.
Fresno State (QB)- Ryan Colburn: 28/38, 288 yards, 2 touchdowns.

Troy vs. Ohio (Troy wins 48-21)
Troy (RB)- DuJuan Harris: 14 carries, 105 yards, 1 touchdown, Receiving Stats: 4 catches, 30 yards.
Troy (K)- Michael Taylor: 2/2 FG's, 50 yarder long, 6/6 XP's, scored 12 points.
Ohio (CB)- Shannon Ballard: 13 tackles.

Louisville vs. Southern Miss (Louisville wins 31-28)
Louisville (LB)- Brandon Heath: 11 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss.
Southern Miss (QB)- Austin Davis: 19/32, 205 yards, 2 touchdowns, Receiving Stats: 1 catch, 17 yards, 1 touchdown.
Southern Miss (LB)- Korey Williams: 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss.

Boise State vs. Utah (Boise State wins 26-3)
Boise State (RB)- Doug Martin: 17 carries, 147 yards, 1 touchdown, Receiving Stats: 1 catch, 15 yards.
Boise State (WR)- Austin Pettis: 12 receptions, 147 yards, 1 touchdown, Passing Stats: 1/1, 2 yards.
Boise State (SS)- Jeron Johnson: 10 tackles, 1 forced fumble.
Utah (LB)- Chaz Walker: 10 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble.
Utah (DE)- Derrick Shelby: 6 tackles.

San Diego State vs. Navy (San Diego State wins 35-14)
San Diego State (QB)- Ryan Lindley: 18/23, 276 yards, 2 touchdowns, Rushing Stats: 1 carry, 8 yards.
San Diego State (WR)- Vincent Brown: 8 receptions, 165 yards, 1 touchdown.
San Diego State (DB)- Andrew Preston: 10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 interception.
Navy (QB)- Ricky Dobbs: 8/15, 148 yards, 1 touchdown, Rushing Stats: 24 carries, 108 yards, 1 touchdown.

Washington vs. Nebraska (Washington wins 19-7)
Washington (LB)- Mason Foster: 12 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 pass defense.
Nebraska (DE)- Pierre Allen: 8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss.
Nebraska (DT)- Jared Crick: 7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss.

South Florida vs. Clemson (South Florida wins 31-26)
Clemson (P)- Dawson Zimmerman: 3 punts, 139 yards, 46.3 yard average, 49 yarder long.

Update for the Tulsa/Hawaii game

Not the best game, but by far the best performances

Greg Salas looks like he may be making a case for the NFL.

I like watching some of these less popular teams play in the bowl games. Most of these teams have very little NFL talent but its the kids on these teams that end up being steals in the draft. Just think one of these players could be the next Marquis Colston for us. Nothing is more rewarding to me than getting pro bowlers with your 6th and 7th round picks with these kids not from big programs.
