Rush is irrelevant. Has been for awhile now.

Not a big listener myself (prefer sports radio) but I wouldn't go that far. His ratings tend to rise when democrats are in power.

Both Obama and the DNCC are making dumb moves by responding to him personally. If he truly is irrelevant, why bother? All you do is call attention to him and make yourself look thin skinned.

Obama is going to have to make some very tough decisions this year. He's going to screw up on a couple of them. Rush will be there to pounce. He's only going to get bigger and it's only going to get nastier from here.

But the beauty of it all? You can just turn your radio off. Poof, he's gone!

I agree...but I think my Dad would have a heart attack if he was unable to listen to him

Valid, but there are many who don't see that as enough. These are the sort that came up with the Fairness Doctrine in the first place.

I have no problem with an effort like this on its own merit. Both sides have been known to do this, but if done improperly it has the backfire effect of strengthening the person you meant to weaken.

It's a legit worry that an effort to build Rush up as a "boogeyman" could be a path toward pushing a need for the Fairness Doctrine. If you hear people start talking about it as a "necessary evil" then you can figure that's where we're headed.

If the Fairness Doctrine is enacted maybe they can replace Jim Rome with Martha Stewart. Then I wouldn't even attempt to listen.

Ditto (pardon the reference) to Mr. Scot's comments ... if he's so irrelevant, why are Obama and the Democrats seething so much about him?

And how the hell are you supposed to be tolerant of someone who is intolerant?

Face it, compared to the other popular party, the Dems are just that. Yes, we don't have room for people that make it their lifes work to tear down what we feel is important. That's the way it goes.

well i sure hope socialism isnt whats important to you, because that is what rush is trying to prevent from happening...the rise of socialism in the united states. obviously this is something that we should all agree with. all rush is trying to do is preserve the ideals this nation was founded on.

thats all you got? im sure youre hardly a saint. regardless of what he does on his personal time, the man is brilliant. its sad when individuals are labeled as "brilliant" simply because they use common sense and logic.

ps. seriously, what was the purpose of using the word "rich" and "white" in your post? assuming that youre a liberal, i find it odd that you would use such words of bigotry. i thought that was the job of republicans? hmm??

how about you actually make a worthwhile point. hows that for a concept.

Calling Limbaugh brilliant and telling me I have nothing worthwhile to say at the same time is one of the nicest platitudes I have ever recieved.

The purpose of using the words are that Rush is white and rich, and therefore can have an illegal drug problem and get away with it, while poor black people need jails to protect us from them. I had to listen to that blowhard for years back when I did a lot of remote site support, and he is a big reason I moved from "center and could not care less" to "left leaning and the right are a bunch of tools" based on the fact that everyone I knew that listened to him just assumed everything he said was the truth. Not many of them knew he started out as a more left wing/centrist talk show person.

So venom, you go right on dittoing him and defending him; maybe if you are lucky you can send him some pain killers someday.

correction: you use the words "white" and "rich" because you have knowingly, or subconciously classified yourself as a victim...and/or you are victimizing other groups of people for them (i.e. blacks).

rush is brilliant. he uses logic and common sense, which is why a lot of people listen and can relate to the man.

the one thing that i dont neccessarily care for, is his incorporation of religion in politics. oh well, it doesnt effect me.

if rush speaks so many "non-truths" as you say...it should be easy for you to bring up a few examples. lets see what you got...
