What's the big deal here? $335 Million is a pittance of a $825 Billion bill. And can any of you honestly say that a drop in the bucket isn't worth being dedicated to AIDS prevention and education?

Your personal share of this bill, not the rest of the government's budget mind you, is $2715.

Multiply that by the number of people in your family to get a household burden.

That's a big bucket.

Okay, let's spend that money on new tanks, then.

How is pouring money into clinics and hospitals (which typically don't operate for free and pay their employees) not an economic stimulus?

Well of course that number varies widely between tax brackets. But given that figure, that's about a dollar and some change for this part of the bill.

It's not creating jobs ... it's funding programs. There's a difference.

How are you able yo determine that providing financial assistance yo these places won't enable them to hire more employees for what might already be an understaffed office?

It seems like the right is bitching just for the sake of bitching

Tell me they're going to spend $335 million to hire people .... don't think so.

Also, read the bill ... it doesn't talk about hiring people.

Clinton: "Tax and spend" democrats

Bush: "Spend and spend" republicans

Obama: "Spend and spend and spend and spend" democrats

Nevermind that the preventative spending will save the tax payers hundreds of millions over the long run....

Not the question at all ... there will be other opportunities to address such issues. It does not belong in this bill.

How is something "buried on page 147" of a 600+ page document? And how is that not being transparent, when it's typed in plain wording?
