Just saying things are rarely as certain as they appear.

What's this have to do with anything? Tim Couch wasn't the prospect that Andrew Luck is..

They may be saying the same thing in 10 to 15 years like:

Remember when Newton was passed over for Andrew Luck?

Life is a risk.
Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf.
I like our chances.

funny you mention the 1999 draft because luck reminds me greatly of the number 3 pick that year, Akili Smith.

That might be the worst comparison I've ever seen.

I've seen them. His pro highlights too (but they're much harder to find online these days).

Among the people comparing Luck to Peyton Manning you'll find professional NFL scouts, coaches and analysts who have been watching and/or working in the game for decades.

Among those comparing Luck to Akili Smith...

Well...nobody, except you (if you're serious).

Luck's college career arc reminds me of a Manning - but it's Eli.

I am sure having a father that also was a NFL qb has nothing to do with their assessments.

I think the off field similarities are having influence on the on field comparisons.

Luck may be good, but just as easily could be a bust.
