I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances, but Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did [it] in a heartless and cruel way," Carlson said. "And I think personally he should have been executed for that. He wasn't."

"But the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs [is] kind of beyond the pale," he said

Translation: "If that n**ger had killed my coon hound, I'da strung his ass up from the closest tree, I tell you what! Add to the fact that the President is a n**ger too, and I don't think I have enough rope!!"

fuging FoxNews. What garbage they are.

"Promoting second chances while praying for executions." That should be their new slogan.

Fwiw, I certainly don't agree with him that Vick should be executed. But I do agree that the President of the US speaking out on the subject and applauding the NFL for giving a multi millionare a second chance simply because he can run and throw is a mistake. If the president believes people deserve a second chance, then so be it. But singling out Michael Vick as worthy of a second chance was wrong.

He's using his mistakes as a tool to try to prevent others from making the same ones. Don't fault a guy for learning from his mistakes.

Except he made these “mistakes” for 6 years…

My issue with Vick is that this has always been about character.

You don’t one day just have an epiphany that drowning, electrocuting, beating, hanging and shooting non-performing dogs is wrong. This was never problem to him until he was caught.

Now he is saying all the right things to get the multimillion dollar paycheck.

You are correct. You don’t one day just have an epiphany that drowning, electrocuting, beating, hanging and shooting non-performing dogs is wrong. Especially after accepting it as a valid lifestyle choice for all of your adult life.

BUT

Spend 23 months in a prison cell for doing it and its not beyond reason that he could have had a change of heart.

As it stands in the eyes of the law and of the court he has paid his debt to society and Im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves that he doesn't deserve it.

The comments aren't that outlandish and some would say the death penalty in general is outlandish. People buy into the social conscience too much. Right and wrong are merely terms we define. Animals tend to be more innocent than humans (even children). No surprise some people are outraged by someone torturing them.

I personally don't like animals and didn't care when I found out Vick was involved with dog fighting and I also don't care for the death penalty and see it as barbaric.

My only problem with Obama in this story is that every time something happens involving a black guy he's right there to jump into the black guy's corner.

I don't think he should, either. I'm not so sure about his "homies" who went around stealing pets out of people's yards, though.

Michael Vick is going to screw up again soon enough. Of that I am sure. He had people getting shot at at his party last summer.
