Considering that he just posted a 2011 schedule with 9 home and 9 away games, and labeled it 2010, it's more than fair to question his sources.

Didn't realize "best" equaled "easiest to get into."

Pretty sure it's tougher to get into ASU than NC State now.

I didn't know that. The people I know who went there ranged from GPAs above 3.5, to GPAs around 2.5, and they all got in, maybe one was waitlisted. Some of the people at that school, if they want to keep the supposed "selective" tag, shouldn't have been accepted then. I'm no genius, I hold my hand up, but where I'm from, ASU is talked about as being as tough to get into as a community college.

It depends on what years you're talking about. Things were never a step above a community college, but they certainly have gotten tougher after 05, 06 and especially 07. I believe it was the early 2000's where they were named one of the top schools in all of America in terms of quality of education to cost of tuition.

This, really. My brother got in and he did terribly in high school...

*Good extracurriculars, but still.

There are requirements for public school to hit "quotas" for enrollment for various grade brackets. IE they have to let in a certain amount of people with 2.0s and 3.0s and so on, also a certain ethnicity mix is required. After these quotas are hit they can pick and choose, and because of the amount of applications and other factors ASU becomes extremely hard to get into.

I went to school there after flunking out at Virginia Tech for Aerospace Engineering. After the first week at ASU, one of the professors thanked me for reading the material.

True conversation at my house, circa 2004, 2005:

Dad: You could always go to Appalachian State.
Me: I thought about it but they don't really interest me much.
Mom: He can go to a better school than that, _________ is going to Appalachian!

Of course now, I'm planning on going to Auburn for grad school, if I fully decide to do so.

I know some stupid mofo's that go to ASU. But that goes for any of the UNC schools, even Chapel Hill.
