I think it is freaking time we had a kicker that can also kickoff, easier said than done tho.

I like Kasay and all but If we can get someone through free agency that is at least competent in both areas I think you do it and stop being loyal to players.

agreed on both counts and the guy i would first target is our former PK, shayne graham. he's been doing a great job filling in on the pats this year. does both jobs well.

Who cares if he is clutch if we aren't in the football game? Find someone who can do both and open that roster spot up.

I would think that you could keep Kasay and bring in a punter who can kickoff easier than finding a kicker as accurate as Kasay who can kickoff. Seems to me you have 2 guys either way.

Dave Toub has been one of the better special teams coaches over the last few years. You have to attribute some of that to Devin Hester, of course, but Hester doesn't do coverage and the Bears have been good at that too.

Naturally, the hope would be that this guy has soaked up enough knowledge and wisdom from Toub to do it himself.

Yep, if we don't have that spot open for 6th-string defensive back Chode Ferguson, we're going to get blown out of every game next year.

John Kasay has earned the right to stay here until he says he's done. If he can still be automatic in the 40s and kick 50 yarders, not to mention the fact he gets his knee tightened every damn week. He earns it, if we have to get a KO specialist and give him the reigns for long field goals so be it. Otherwise the better option is to get a Punter who can also do KO's. Replacing his accurcy is much harder then people think. He can leave when he decides too.
