Sorry I forgot you were still butt hurt from last night princess. I will change that right away.

Just trying to help you out. You know, make you look like less of an idiot but if you want to continue misspelling 3rd grade words, be my guest.

Didn't we rely on the "experts" when we jumped on Clausen. Then an article appeared that certain "experts" were paid off to rate him higher. We need to do our own evaluation and not rely on any outside verbage. Just cannot afford to make another mistake.

what in the world does volek have to offer as a mentor? it's a lazy choice.

i would much rather have bulger, hass, collins, or crap, even josh mccown here to help bring a QB along than rely on billy volek. if chad pennington could throw again i would rather have him in here as well. all of those guys have a whole lot more to offer than volek.

That's fine

Hasslebeck is reportedly going back to Seattle

McCown has just as little game experience as Volek

Bulger is pointless bringing here to start, so would be just as useful as Volek

Collins isn't the sort of mentor I would want to bring in.

You get so aggressive about Billy Volek yet completely ignore the fact that teams have wanted him on their 3 QB roster rather than going elsewhere. He HAS to be good off the field, otherwise teams would have waved goodbye a long time ago. If you are going for a mentor that is exactly what you want, not someone who might win a game or two. All you want from him is to instil some good practice off the field and pass on as much of his work ethic as possible.

You don't want the most talent as a mentor, you want the best teacher.

actually, Clausen was scouted by our people and the idea we just grabbed him because Mel Kiper inflated his stock is silly. The guy who has Gabbert the highest also had Clausen as a 2nd round talent, because of concerns with his mechanics, his intangibles (including and especially leadership ability) and his arm... Same guy is pushing Gabbert because of the exact opposite of that.

What happens when the student fails miserably and the teacher can't play?

"Vet" mentors are overrated and it's just another cliche of football. Give me a good coach over a washed up grump any day.

Lots of good QBs didn't have "vet" mentors. It's just some sh*tty excuse to give to their favorite player.

People need to realise that no one was paid off to inflate draft stock. Do you realise just how many people that you would have to pay? There are litterally thousands of draft analysts and scouts that would have had to fall under that banner. To think a family could pay these people enough cash to simply push a QB up draft boards is just pathetic.

LOL your the one making an ass of yourself by being all butt hurt and all. The Grammar hammer is like the last resort attack from someone that has lost the battle. Yea I switched two words around, big deal we all make mistakes. It still does not make you look any more right, just petty.

I don't even know what you are talking about. I'm glad you changed your sig from Cam Newton #1 overall though. If you still believe that why did you change it?

Agree with a good coach, but a vet Qb is important as sometimes they are the first guy starting QBs go to if things are getting tough.

I also agree that you need someone who can play, but sadly the list of available QBs simply does not offer that. I would have gladly made a push for a guy like Orton, but we would have to give up decent draft picks to get him which we vitally need for restocking our roster.
