Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton has arrived in San Diego to train with George Whitfield Jr., the quarterback tutor who mentored Ben Roethlisberger.

It definitely sounds like he strives to improve, which puts him way ahead of Vince Young. Still a project, though.

Step in the right direction for him. Good start for his offseason, long way to go.

OMFG, no one is saying that he can't be a Ben Rothelisberger type QB, we're just saying its going to be two to three years of him sitting on the bench making very few mistakes until he is there. What is with peoples fascination with spending the #1 pick on projects and then they proceed to bag on Hurney for getting a project player in Armanti?

That should put a cease to all his work ethic critics. I mean, a lot of people on here were sooooooo worried about him when it came to that. Glad to see him getting on his grind, and getting some extra work in.

Cam is also talking to Warren Moon according to the article. He is surrounding himself with some good people. I hope he does well. He is off to a good start.

First order of business should be to find him another role model.

See, a black kid will get put in jail for doing the poo Ben did.

I think he may do very well. Even though, he probably isn't coming to Carolina, it'll be fun to watch him play.

Draft him.

Pretty sure people said Ben was 2-3 years from contributing as well when he was drafted.
