Guys, I know the Vancouver game was a disappointment. I actually fell asleep, like a wimp, before it started. However, tonight I will be completely rested for our 10:30 start against the Sharks
If you live in the Southeast and rely on networks like VS (), you're probably asking yourself...
What are we up against?
This game is going to be very hard to for the Canes to win? It only takes a simple look at the standings to see that San Jose is first in the West. Beyond point standings though, they're a tough team that takes a ton of shots on goal, and plays defense by preventing opposing shots on goal. They're 2nd, and 1st in the respective categories. So, try to out shoot the Sharks? Funny thing is, they're also 1st in winning percentage for games where they are out shot, 85.7%
Numbers aside what's this mean
It means that we're going into a building that's going to be very hard to play in. They just lost to Chicago in there a couple days ago, which I believe was only their 2nd (regulation) loss at home. It's not going to be easy.
Not only do we need a very solid game from Ward, but we need our guys to play responsible hockey. Brind'Amour will not be making the trip, and in his place is Jacob Petruzalek(sp). Maybe that new energy will help. Maybe it'll mess with line chemistry too much...
Either way.. Go Canes. We absolutely need at least 3 points out of this 3 game stretch. With the Vancouver game blown, a win here would be huge.
