The team does have to wait until the player signs the tag, to even entertain any trade proposals.
No team is desperate enough to give up compensation for a franchised back that is 28 years of age, and hasn't completed a season in 2 years.

Deangelo has value on the open market. Not a lot of teams would be clamoring to trade for a RB, especially not one that is 28, possibly 29 if there is a lockout. Name me the last RB that was traded away for a #1+, which is what some of you think D-Will is worth. We would be lucky to get a 3rd for him.
Kalil may not be worth 10.1 milion RIGHT NOW, but someone would ****** him up in a heartbeat because he most likely will be worth that in the not too distant future.
Johnson probably has more value than most of you realize. He may not be the flashy type of player but any DE that can rack up double digit sacks is a big time commodity in the NFL.
