Charlotte/Panthers a good fit for him.

Ron Meeks was a great fit. Really wanted him to stay on staff, and did.
Felt very good about McDermott, has experience with him.

Mike Shula QB coach, Pete Hanard (sp?) for TEs, Mastowhatever his name is for Oline

Feels like all of the position coaches on offense will help transition from old offense to this offense

Biggest challenge moving forward/how to evaluate offensive and defensive talent:

He's watched all games from last year. Young defensive talent, good good. Likes oline group. Points out just a few years ago 2 1,000 rushers. Likes all 3 running backs. Receivers are solid. Play maker in Smitty, Gettis and Lafell solid.

TE by committee, Barnidge is most athletic.

QBs- Is Matt Moore or Clausen going to be QB? We'll evaluate them and draft prospects to find out.

Good quality football players on D. Likes Beason, likes Hardy, CJ. Thinks Thomas Davis can come back and help. Likes both young safeties.

3 solid corners. Marshall and Gamble solid. Munnerlyn good nickle.

Best thing is that young guys got a lot of experience last year.

New OC- has to find ways to use all play makers. Mentions Smitty, all running back, tightends.

Mentions Philip Rivers completing passes to 8-9 different receivers last year. Need to be able to spread ball around like that this year.

How feel about QBs in draft?

It's about what they have done on field. Have to be careful when looks at combine numbers, etc. Would rather watch how perform at senior bowl, etc. But have to remember they are learning new system in a week, so bad performances can basically be thrown out. Stresses looking at what they did on the field in college.

QB- Has to be good leader. Needs to take charge. Thinks new staff can help develop QBs, thinks Jimmy didnt have anyone help him to step up and be a leader. (Not all Jimmys fault last year?). This is team game, so cant put all blame on QB for bad year/performance

Have a plan with lock out, are prepared for both.. including signing free agents.

Prepare to install offense? Have to get everything ready for next year, but we have rules we have to follow (regarding lockout, little to no contact with player?)
