The Cleveland Plain Dealer confirms that the Browns are likely to release Jake Delhomme this offseason.

The only surprise here is that Delhomme wasn't among the Browns' initial round of roster cuts on Wednesday. Delhomme carries a $5.4 million salary into the final year of a contract he was never going to fulfill. Once a free agent, Delhomme should generate zero interest as a potential starter.

He'll have two options. Im thinking he'll go w/ his butt buddy in Denver.

the man should retire and maybe take a year off and then get into coaching.

He "earned" 20 mill last season (12 Panthers + 7 Browns). Kind of hard to take a pay cut now. He won't be playing again

Bring him back to Carolina! Not to play... just to fire up the team during the game.

Maybe he could be one of the guys that runs across the field with the Panthers flags!

Time for the ultimate "intangibles" team of The Golden Calf of Bristol and Delhomme to unite

I want Jake nowhere near this team in any kind of role that isn't purely material (i.e. towel boy).

I think he'll retire and move back to LA to horse around.

I bet you the Panthers sign him to a one-day contract and he retires.

I'm guessing this is the end of the road for Jake, sign him to a 1 day contract and let him retire as a Panther.
