There is some talk about him running against Burr for Senate. That would be a interesting contest. Shuler is a blue dog democrat, anti abortion and might have a shot even if Obama is not on the ticket.

If they see a chance to wrest a Senate seat from the republicans, they will jump at it.

He is my congressman, I have neighbors who are very involved in the democratic party here in Asheville, They have been saying while he was instrumental in unseating Charles Taylor(I thank god everyday) but he(shuler) will be unseated by a democrat. Richard Burr would win hands down vs Heath Shuler.
