I wouldn't mind if he is on the cheap side, but I don't understand what is the point with no contracts.

And whats the point? Its not like they will sign him until after a CBA is reached.

My guess is he is meeting with Chud who coached him in the past.

I'm all for it. It's an upgrade over all our current tight ends, plus he's been coached by Chud in the past.

I hope we sign him. He seemed ready to prove the doubters wrong in a recent interview. That coaching staff is familiar with him. I doubt we sign a big time TE like Zack Miller. This draft class is weak at TE. AND we already have two (Barnidge and Rosairo) young TE who should excel with this new coaching staff.

Bring in Shockey, a veteran who can give us another target on offense.
