JaMarcus Russell and Alex Smith killed it at their combines...

While guys like Tom Brady and Drew Brees were terrible. So before you count Cam out at #1, let's remember to keep things in perspective here:

JaMarcus Russell combine article: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft07/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=2777414 (Russell makes a big impression)

Alex Smith combine/workout article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=cr-proday031605 (Smith's performance is only the latest in what has become consistent – and predictable – leapfrogging since the NFL's February combine in Indianapolis last month)

Tom Brady combine article: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/03/sports/football/03draft.html (Mentions how underwhelming Brady was at the combine and how explosive some guy named Giovanni Carmazzi was and how he leaped up people's boards after his combine)

Drew Brees combine article:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1022419/6/index.htm (Mentions how Brees completed 11/20 passes similar to how Newton completed 11/21)

You have actual NFL players all over Twitter today commenting on how unimportant the combine really is. So please people, before you bury Cam, let's keep things in perspective.

And remember how many you complete is actually not important.

He sailed a couple big time no doubt. But he had good throws on both the go routes (especially he was 0-3 but all three were good throws) and at least two on the out routes that were either dropped or good passes and the receiver didn't get there.

I don't think anything. He was cut.

if the first casualty of war is the truth, then the first casualty of the NFL offseason is perspective.

Funny. Up to now I saw a lot of people talking about how important the combine was. Now suddenly it isn't.

Wonder why

    • I would love Tarik, balled out at my alma mater. Would be great for him to be a panther.
    • some people are assholes for their own benefit. like yeah i believe you were a bowtie boy and i believe you logic'd yourself into affirmative action bake sales and such but to me there is a fundamental difference between a person who is just wrong and a person who harbors terrible beliefs from which they stand to gain. yeah i ridicule both but imo there's being a smug dork calling for an end to minimum wage and there's literally blaming victims of rape for their rape. i would leave my sister/wife/daughter in a room with college republicans because like what are they gonna do, impose a flat tax on them? but the type of person who says "well what did she expect? men have their hormones you know..." is someone who has probably had some uh...questionable sexual encounters. and yeah i know you tried to draw a parallel between yourself and arsen wrt the specific topic at hand but it seems like you were trolling and dumb whereas this dude's literally going into biological justifications for rape. convert the willing sure but nothing he has posted leads me to believe he is willing.
