The point is we don't know what next year's QB prospects will look like. There's no guarantee Luck even comes out. We also have no clue where we'll be drafting next year. We have the top pick right NOW and we do know what this year's QB class looks like.
We could find ourselves in the middle of round 1 and having to give up a future 1st rounder just to move up and take a QB that's not any better than what's available right here and now.
I'd rather risk swinging and missing with the 1st overall pick this year than giving up TWO 1st rounders to move up and take the same risk next year.
If palmer was 28 then i'd take it but,for a guy thats 31 thats threating retirement already, and who's skills are already on the decline no. He couldn't get it done with t.o,chad, antonio bryant, and shippley, whats he gonna do with smith, gettis and lafell?
No more stop gaps..for how well we've drafted in the first round were still the only team to not take a chance and find a franchise quarterback. I say swing if we strikeout so be it.
