My Mock (3 Rounds)

19 posts in this topic

For San Diego, I like the Jordan pick at 18 - he's my second choice after Watt.

In the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I think they'll take a WR and OLB, but they won't double their pleasure. WRwise we have VJ, Crayton, and Ajirotutu under contract. Floyd's a high priority, so there's only really the 5th spot - to which I wouldn't mind bringing Kelley Washington back and calling it a day. Goodman or Banks are also in play.

We likely will be going ILB in the first 3 rounds, since we have a lot of uncertainty over who will be back.

Most of the fanbase hates Clary, so we're all rooting that we go OT early.

There's also the chance that AJ could do something out of the box.

He drafted Whitehurst and flipped him, so it's not out of the realm of possibility he brings in someone like Stanzi in the 3rd (especially if Volek leaves).

Unless Sperry is the answer at backup TE, that could be used early too.

He may also look to get a small back (Locke/Hunter) to take the Sproles role if he doesn't return.

There's been a fair amount of talk that Jammer will eventually move to safety down the road, and with the team bringing in Jimmy Smith for a visit a CB is not out of the question.

All this being said here's what I'd do

18 - Jordan

50 - Ijalana

61 - Acho

82 - V. Brown

89 - Sheppard

How would you feel about Phil Taylor in the 1st? I've got him going to the Chargers in my new mock as I have Jordan going to the Pats.

New England having that Oakland pick is going to be a pain in our ass. I can see that scenario happening, where we're set to take Jordan/Watt and they do it before we get the chance.

NT's not a need for us since we have Garay and Thomas. Garay was a PB alternate, and as the season progressed Thomas was making the most of his time in the rotation. I think Taylor may end up being this year's Alualu, in the effect that he's going to go a lot higher than consensus draft boards say.

Yeah, I've noticed the Pats seem to be in the way whenever I want to give a player to the Chargers. I think there's a chance they take Ingram or Pouncey if they fall, but my latest scenario has them both off the board by the time they pick, so they go with Jordan. I had SD picking Taylor, but based off what you said, I switched it:

01. Carolina: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

02. Denver: Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama

03. Buffalo: Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

04. Cincinnati: A.J. Green, WR, UGA

05. Arizona: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

06. Cleveland: Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

07. San Francisco: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

08. Tennessee: Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

09. Dallas: Tyron Smith, OT, USC

10. Washington: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

11. Houston: J.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin

12. Minnesota: Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson

13. Detroit: Prince Amakumara, CB, Nebraska

14. St. Louis: Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue

15. Miami: Mike Pouncey, OL, Florida

16. Jacksonville: Aaron Williams, DB, Texas

17. New England (f/OAK): Cameron Jordan, DE, California

18. San Diego: Muhammed Wilkerson, DE, Temple

19. New York Giants: Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State

20. Tampa Bay: Robert Quinn, DE, UNC

21. Kansas City: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor

22. Indianapolis: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College

23. Philadelphia: Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

24. New Orleans: Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

25. Seattle: Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado

26. Baltimore: Cameron Heyward, DE, OSU

27. Atlanta: Justin Houston, DE, UGA

28. Tennessee (f/NE): Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada

29. Chicago: Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

30. New York Jets: Jon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

31. Pittsburgh: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

32. Green Bay: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State

Wilkerson's my nightmare at 18 - I just don't have a good feeling about him.

What about our comp pick at the end of the third

What about the fact he posted this mock March 3rd before compensatories were announced.
