Sugar is for oatmeal, not grits.

I eat my grits mixed in with eggs over easy and sausage.

Butter and a little pepper. But I can't eat grits by itself. Usually goes with my weekly huge breakfast that consists of scrambled eggs (yeah, with ketchup, WHAT OF IT!?), liver mush, grits, bacon, and toast/biscuits, orange juice and milk.

I've never had sugar in my grits and it doesn't appeal to me what so ever.

Butter, salt, pepper and occasionally cheddar cheese.

People who put sugar in grits need to be right behind the folks who put cheese in them on the GTFO train.

Butter, pepper, and salt (if you must).
That's it.
Nothing else.

fuging yankees...

No... cheese goes on the eggs or on your biscuit if you don't have gravy.

God will punish you for putting cheese on grits. Not saying you're going to hell for it but you'll stub your toe or something.
