I don't like him personally, but he could easily be Denver's starter.

Oh and it's obvious that you must agree with everyone else on that list.

How many heisman trophy winners had a successful NFL cereer? Statistic works against Cam.

Cam = a hybrid between Vince Young and Chris Weinke.

Cam newton=Vince young(who isn't that bad) plus chris weinke? care to show your math on that i'm just curious how you came up with such awful comparisons

Reggie Bush? Really?
#1 reason the pro-cam camp wants him is, they know Cam, and are able to evaluate talent better than anyone else. All of the talking heads on tv don't know jack.

I should get some pie for even waisting time reading this thread.

#10 Reason: He stole from teammates' lockers at Florida
#9 Reason: He had a stolen laptop
#8 Reason: He threw it away AFTER police took the serial number
#7 Reason: He was accused of cheating at UF 4 times
#6 Reason: We should not have to pay someone up to $50 million to see if they can read defenses
#5 Reason: NCAA investigation still on-going concerning severe violations
#4 Reason: 11 for 21 (52%) completion rate at Indy with no wind, no rush, no coverage.
#3 Reason: 50 for 60 at his own pro day. Timing was a little off, and he rehearsed.
#2 Reason: Running QBs don't last long in NFL. He will resort to running. Take his runs out of his highlight videos and see what you have left--above average, no more.
#1 Reason: All of the previos factors make giving this guy up to $50 million and the keys to the car a tremendous risk that is seen by people with average to high levels of intelligence.

Yes he has upside, we get it. But when risk outweighs reward, don't take the risk. Sorry for the fact that others' opinions do not agree with yours. Focus on what you want and not what others want, but respect the fact the we were all given indvidual brains and are entitled to an opinion. We see your points and have known them for some time. You choose to ignore the red flags and how these concerns have forshadowed problems and are not precursers to the Pro Bowl.

There is upside, we get it. But there are huge risks concerning character, mechanics, and football intelligence. The fact that you have not interviewed him, looked into his background, or seen him break down a defense and still want him tells me a lot.

Half of your list can be compounded into into one(10-6), we get it he cheated. Tho i missed the stealing from teamates, the fact that he's going to get 50 million will pretty much mean he won't be stealing. From what i read he wasn't as awful as people make him out to be when they asked him to read defenses on the board.

Who said he can't read defenses, just because he wasn't asked to do much of it doesnt mean he can't. Half the NFL has average intelligence, lets face it newton went to college to become a football player not a math wiz. Which is the case for most star studded athletes. tho the part on running qbs is valid, the rest is kinda blurry.

My son wants a Honda with a sun roof. It is not very old and sounds good when it runs. New paint, tires, and a great stereo system. It has 280,000 miles and they do not have the hiistory of the car for us.

The book value of the car is $2400 without the high mileage. They are frim at $3500. He is determined that we are buying the car with the new paint, sun roof and great stereo. He does not seem to understand that it is a disaster waiting to happen. He only sees the glitter.

I feel like I am having the same conversation here.

I did compress them into one. I could have listed every time he cheated and stole separately. If you want to get technical, it is more likely that these things are the tips of the iceberg than isolated incidents that should be lumped together and filed away.

And Lindsay Lohan with all her $$ didn't steal from a jewelry store. And Winona Ryder was not caught shoplifting at Bloomingdales. Giving someone $5o million turns them honest? Ok. And nobody knows for sure how well he has done during skull sessions with coaches. I hear very mixed reviews. At the poker table that is what you get.

But if you do not KNOW he can read a defense or his character will improve after being paid, how can you KNOW you want him?

4. Carson Palmer doesn't want to play in Cincinnati, or they have another QB from the island of misfit toys, AKA QB free agency, that they've got their dick dripping for. "HEY! Guess what that means! That means we can swap picks and get a veteran QB. He had good stats in Cincy, so that automatically means he'll come in and play good here immediately without a hitch! Right? ....Right? Right?! Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right?"

Hey, Cam Newton had good stats in College Football and not in the NFL like Carson Palmer has done, so that means he'll come here and play good immediately without a hitch! Right? ....Right? Right?! Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right? Right?

Honestly I don't care if we get Palmer/Newton either way

Just putting logic in this~

Judging frOm the OPs jersey shore promo in his post be appears to be no older than your son. If not in age, then no doubt in maturity.

People that don't want Cam can see that he's going to be a bust or take awhile for him to be an impact player that's why we dont want to draft him. Would rather have a player that can come in and make the team better right away. Yes I'm talking about going BPA with the #1 pick instead of wasting it on a project player.

It is so obvious he is going to be a bust that as many as 4-5 teams might want to trade up for him right??

It is amazing how much smarter us here at the Huddle are than NFL front offices.

They don't even need a war room or scouting department. Just sign up and sign in here. Save them some money.

The fact of the matter is none of us know how well Cam will turn out. We watch our little NFL.com and ESPN videos and read our little excerpts from Gantt and think we're talent evaluators. ''I don't want Cam cuz dis, and cuz I kno he gonna be a bust.'' No the funk you don't. You don't know poo. You're just speculating based on your narrow perspective.

"But he don stol a labtop and dat meens he iz gonna be Wirenona Rider and steal and be a bust." *Sigh* What do you really know about Newton? Nothing.

It's not a black and white issue (and I mean the colors, not skin color) there is grey area with Newton, he's a risk/reward player. That grey area is likely being tirelessly explored by the Panthers staff IF they are seriously considering him. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, I trust Hurney's judgement in the 1st round. He does his homework it seems, and rarely picks a bust in that round. "BUT HURNYS IZ DUM AND HE GOTTA GO FUG HURNY HE PICKED DWANE JARET!!!!!."

If we DO pick Cam, I'll be happy, not because I wanted him, because I don't, but who the funk am I?

I'll be happy because OUR talent evaluators, after having spent the better part of 3 months studying him, SOMETHING NONE OF YOU ARE DOING, chose him thinking that HE CAN be great, and will turn out well.

All of that said, I want PP7. But that's only my stupid narrow perspective based on NFL.com and ESPN videos. :)
