Gerald Wallace on being traded

Recommended Posts

There will likely be a large portion of the crowd tomorrow night rooting for Portland. I hope we get some good shots of MJ at the end of the bench when all that is going on.

Luckily, I don't think any are coming out.

Shoot, I wouldnt mind HB or Henson. Barnes is going to be a star, and once Henson puts on a little more mass, he's going to be solid in the pros.

I agree with you in that I dont think any of them are coming out this year. Atleast thats what I'm hoping...

(I'm a huge tarheel fan, and want these 3 together atleast one more year)

Rajon Rondo, Wilson Chandler, David Lee, Aaron Brooks were all drafted in the late first round. just to name a few, any time you can get young talent is a good thing. so fail maybe.

Of course you're going to find a few good ones. Gerald Wallace was in the 20's. The majority are not good though. Go look at past drafts i bet the majority of the guys in the 20's are not even in the league anymore.

some are role players but the same could be said about the nfl and its draft. its a crap shot.

I wouldn't say that the 20's aren't good I would just say it depends on the particular draft.

Since the 2000

Draft

These guys have been selected for All Star Games or All-NBA Teams

2000- 19th pick- Jamaal Magloire

2000- 43rd pick- Michael Redd

2001- 19th pick- Zach Randolph

2001- 25th pick- Gerald Wallace

2001- 28th pick- Tony Parker

2001- 30th pick- Gilbert Arenas

2001- 37th pick- Mehmet Okur

2002- 35th pick- Carlos Boozer

2003- 18th pick- David West

2003- 29th pick- Josh Howard

2003- 47 pick- Mo Williams

2004- 20th pick- Jameer Nelson

2005- 17th pick- Danny Granger

2005- 30th pick- David Lee

2006- 21st pick- Rajon Rondo

However, like others have said it's really a hit or miss and a lot of the guys just turn out to be role players.

I mean you just named 15 players in the last 10 years. Picks 20 to 30 thats 85 players that are garbage since then. You named people after the 20's so that makes even more garbage players. The draft is a crap shoot. No poo. What im saying is there is a huge drop off from 20 on down. Really big drop off. 20 on down usually don't come in contribute and start right away. 20's are terrible in the NBA. Not to mention we haven't had great luck in the lottery. The 20's are full of roll players which is fine but we are full of roll players now. We need starters. Here's to getting lucky cause we are going to need it.:cheers2:

i don't think it's as much hit and miss as some of you claim. some teams draft well and some dont. i see the celtics, spurs, hornets, bucks, mavericks, trailblazers, magic in this list, teams that have drafted well historically.

i don't see any bobcats.

And we've been so good since he left.

Were they so good before he left? H*ll, were they ever good while he was here? (Not blaming him of course)

Draft picks are going to mean alot under a new CBA, maybe not this year, but the two picks we have for 2013. Both sides said they favor an NFL style CBA, which would make picks that much more important.
