All of us ECU fans know this, but I doubt Hurney will admit the Edwards pick was bad and grab Harris. I hope he does because he is a Boldin type of receiver.

That is really a shame... because Dwayne Harris >>>>>>> Armanti Edwards. By a LOT.

Projected 7th round pick, better than anything we have on our roster

Really? A projected 7th round pick is better than anything on the Panthers roster? I doubt it.

I watched all of Harris's games for the past 3 games and he is clearly an impact player. Not only is he a great possession receiver but one heck of a returner as well. As for being a small school from a poor conference, ECU played NC State, UNC, Virginia Tech, UCF, Maryland in 2010 to name a few. I think 7 of their opponents played in bowl games. They are the third largest University in NC and also projected to be the biggest university in North Carolina in the next 10 years.

Back to Harris. Among all players he was 4th in the nation in all purpose yards at 176 yards per game. Not only did he have 101 catches (6th in the nation) for 1123 yards but as a returner he average 27 yards a kickoff return and 11 per punt. He improved his combine 40 time in his pro day running a 4.38 for scouts. He will not make it to the Falcons in the 4th round. If we took him with our 4th rounder we would be getting good value if we need a possession receiver.

Better than our group of slightly servicable DT's. I would bet that we might have one DT that could make the roster of another NFL team.

Yeah, that 4.56 was an anomaly. He is much faster than that.

Don't take the bait on the small school shots at ECU. Anyone that knows anything about football and North Carolina schools doesn't make those statements.

Look at his speed (4.38), size (6'0" and 205 pounds) and production as a receiver and returner. People will flame me for even suggesting it but honestly Harris would be a fine replacement for Steve Smith. He has quickness, a burst out of his first step and plays with a lot of heart.

It is, but Hurney has to be feeling the pressure. He is a put your hardhat on and go to work kind of receiver. People were saying the same thing about CJ, but ECU fans knew he was going to be special. Harris is going to be special and I hope we don't miss this one.

I won't flame you for that. Smitty is an all-pro receiver. Harris is going to be a rookie. Give Dwayne Harris some time and he could eventually develop into an all-pro guy. All he needs is a QB... and I think we're going to fix that at 8 PM. :D
