If you're unlucky enough to never have watched an episode of GOT before and wonder wth it's all about, S1, E1 is available free to watch on Amazon:

Season 4 ordered!

http://www.craveonli...hrones-season-4

Regarding the fear that Martin won’t have finished the next book in the series by then, the author recently told The Hollywood Reporter that "My dream chronology is that the books finish first, and I do have a considerable lead over them. It's true that they're moving faster than I am — the series has its own speed — but I don't see us catching up for another three years or so, by which time another book will be out. That should give them another two seasons of material. And while I'm writing the last book, they'd be making those."

I'm trying not to read any of this, as I just finished season 2, episode 5. This show is awesome. Gonna grab the first book whenever I am caught up and try to knock it out over a week or two as well, as I hear it's different enough and good enough to do so.

The first book and season one are incredibly similiar but book 2 and season 2 have a decent amount of small similarities to keep it interesting.

i read the first book after watching the show and it was definitely worth it. it clears some things up and obviously expands on some things. i feel like i'm much more knowledgable about the world after reading it.

lol

This thread basically introduced me to ASOIAF since I thought it sounded interesting... I was lucky enough to be out of town the week the first episode of season 1 aired. The hotel had HBO and I remembered this thread, so I watched a rerun.

When I got back in town two days later, I found all 4 books in a set at my local Walmart.

I pretty much finished all 4 books in three months. Just in time for the 5th book, which I finished in a few days. It is impressive because I hadn't really read anything book-wise in almost 12-13 years up to that point. lol...

After finishing those, I've gone on to read a poo ton of books, and it all started here.

Long story short... THANKS HUDDLE!

I felt it only fitting that I do this. We still need some people to take up some Lannister and Stark profiles.

I saw this on facebook the other day and FREAKED. I was about to rage....until a friend told me to go to the bottom of the article. At that point, the heart attack that was sure to come subsided and I was able to sleep.

Also, YOU WOULD BE A LANNISTER OTHER THAN TYRION! Eh, at least you're not Joffrey.

I thought about changing it to Tyrion as he is my favorite character, but I'm not as cunning as he. I'm more of an action first think later kind of person so Jaime was the perfect choice. If any poster were to change their name to Joffrey it would have to be BWood.

Also, when I saw that on FB yesterday my heart flipped out knowing it wasn't April fools anymore, then I saw the date of the post and literally and figuratively LOL'd.
