Ryan Clark tells his temmates to show up to work Tuesday

Recommended Posts

The question of whether NFL players will report for work on Tuesday is no longer a matter of “what if?”

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that safety Ryan Clark has informed his Steelers teammates to show up for work on Tuesday morning.

“I’m trying to get guys there at 8 o’clock, to get out there and show we want to be here, we want too be part of this organization and we want to be on the field,” Clark said. “We want to show this is not a litigation process but an attempt to have football in 2011.”

Still unclear if the doors will be locked, but I wonder how many other players from other teams will follow suit (if they haven't already and we just don't know)

What remains to be seen if whether players opt to try to workout at team facilities Tues AM. That could be interesting. Some agents I was...in contact with said they wouldn't urge their players to do so, and noted that this would not be a normal time for OTAs, but in concept...A team facility could open by 7AM, ET, and Judge Nelson's court likely at perhaps 9AM, CT, so there would be a pre-stay ruling window ...Once again, it's unchartered territory for us all - fans, players, owners, coaches, GMs, agents, even lawyers and judges. Well, if we do pick Newton, I want a playbook in his hands ASAP. (damn, I just made this another Newton thread....fug ME!!)

Hopefully it's only a picture book. We don't want to discourage him before the season even starts.

Players can't report on Tuesday...

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81f77c4f/article/judge-rules-for-players-lockout-to-be-lifted-nfl-set-to-appeal?module=HP_headlines

here's what you need to know...

"As of now, there is no mechanism in place for teams to conduct football business. NFL team officials are thus not allowed to contact players or agents. Also, several agents said they would not advise players to attempt to workout or enter NFL team headquarters Tuesday morning -- which would be conceivable in theory with Nelson not ruling on the stay until Tuesday. Additionally, an NFLPA official said he did not expect players to try to report to teams, given that no OTAs or minicamps are scheduled and there is no official business of that sort generally conducted at this point until after the draft. Though NFL clubs would generally be overseeing workouts by players at the facility in a more informal manner"
