They caught fire at the end. Xavier looked sluggish though.

Athletics are called Charlotte, not UNCC. They changed it from UNCC 49ers to Charlotte 49ers in 2001.

That aside, was a great game to be at. Hasn't been much to get excited about in Niner Nation this season, but this was certainly a nice pick me up. Injuries have devastated this team this season.

Dijuan Harris is the best PG in the nation that nobody has ever heard of. He was 5th in assists heading into the game and added another 10 tonight which should put him at an average of 7 per game for the season. With the injured players returning next season and the new guys we have coming in, his numbers should be even better.

Shamari Spears was a solid contributor at Boston College, Chris Braswell is a top 100 player, and KJ Sherrill has catapulted himself into being considered one of NC's top 5 players, so the interior players should be fun to watch next season.

He's not going anywhere. Just signed an extension last season after the team way overachieved. We're getting the exact opposite this year though. Charlotte doesn't have an extra 2 million laying around to buy out the contract.

As for recruits, we have good guys coming in next season, but still need a backup PG. Our backup (if you want call him that since they were essentially splitting minutes last season) quit on us a few weeks before the season started leaving us with only one real PG. Our emergency backup then went out with a torn ACL and PCL, so now we have nobody. The backup behind that guy broke a knee cap before the season even started, so we lost our backup emergency PG who was also supposed to be our starting SG. He lead us in scoring in a preseason tournament in Canada and was expected to put up pretty good numbers. After he went down, we had only one true SG and he's average at best (although he looked good tonight with 16 points).

For those unfamiliar with Bobby Lutz basketball, Charlotte-Shooting Guard=bad season

    • I do think Kpassagnon is an interesting prospect that needs to be in the right situation to thrive. It just so happens that we have one of the best 6'7" defensive ends in the history of the NFL on a reunion tour with us in 2017 and maybe if need be, 2018 if he holds up.   Kpassagnon's attitude and work ethic is strong and tireless. His 3-cone and vert scare me for a defensive end, and that's not something you can teach. Being able to bend and explode off the snap to beat OL is not something that Peppers can show him, but maybe Peppers can show how to use athleticism to his advantage.  I can see him being just another Michael Johnson/Erik Armstead player or I could also see the environment here in Carolina benefiting him and he becomes a Carlos Dunlap kind of lanky DE that causes headaches along our DL. Kpassagnon's spider web looks amazing and awful all at the same time. I'd take him in this draft, but "where" is the big question.
