Panthers beat report Darin Gantt writes that he is "convinced" franchise player Julius Peppers won't be in Carolina next season.

Jordan Gross recently said he thought Peppers was open to staying, but indications point towards a trade around draft time. Carolian still figures to play hardball throughout this process to get as much compensation as possible.

If we are going to keep Peppers then Fox and Hurney need to hold a press conference telling the media and fans that he is staying because this crap is going to kill me before the draft!

Charlotte observer is saying exact opposite saying the chance of us trading him is slim.

No, it seems everybody else on this board--myself not included--thinks this too.

I don't, however, think he's worth a trade for Peppers and the money we would have to pay him.

What system would that be exactly? I'd take Cassell in a hot minute.

Im leaning to this now. I still wonder how we are gonna be a better team though without any cap space.

I would not trade Pepp for Cassel. Hell for all we know he could be another Derrick Anderson. Has one good year then falls off. Trade Pepp for Cassel and like a 3 round pick.

I'd rather have Derek Anderson and a 1st. He was hurt last year that's why he fell off. Also the Browns don't have the greatest offense to begin with.

the selling point on cassell is hes more proven than any rookies coming out and would demand similar money
