Haven't been in over two years at least. I love having a full 2 day weekend. I gained like 52 vacation days when I became agnostic lol Seriously it's pretty fuging awesome. Today I'm going to clean my windows. Hang out at the pool. Spend some time with my kid playing, play some video games and who knows what else.

I agree. it sucks that most people work hard 5 days a week, and on one of the 2 days that you get to rest, you have to wake up early in order to get the kids ready to go to church.

I bet churches across the nation would gain millions of members if they held service in the afternoon instead of the morning.

As far as the church that i go to, it's pretty awesome. Consists mainly of cracking open a cold one while sitting my ass on the recliner, and watching some football.

Afternoon services? On Sunday? And miss NFL and NASCAR?

Maybe have Monday evening services.

But not many would send donations, tithe, or pay a membership fee for an online church.:)

good point...and that's a big part of it.

set it up like a porn site...or so I've been told...pay a monthly membership fee and have the worship on a continous loop etc.

Like hawk, weddings and funerals.

The churches around here teach gay hate. Pisses me off. My daughter cheered for Upward a couple of years ago. Before a game, the preacher did a short sermon talking about drug abusers, murderers, and homosexuals were all going to hell. A gay person is the same as a murderer? WTF? We never went back.

That's not the only church, just one example of what it's like around here.

When I go, I enjoy church. But I normally only go on Christmas and Easter nowadays. There is no shot at me going during football season. I certainly want to start going more. Found a good church down here called Good Shepherd on S. Tryon that we go to from time to time.

I don't wanna make this all tinderbox etc...but the thing about church that bothers me, is why people feel obligated to go...like it's some sort of social thing or a sin to miss a Sunday. I understand it is a social thing and it's part of the congregation etc, but there's far too much one up manship going on....hard to explain my point...but I truly feel a huge majority of people go to church for all the wrong reasons.

I was forced by my dad to attend church until I was 15, almost 16. One morning I went downstairs, sat at the breakfast table, and told my dad I felt I was at an age where he couldn't force me to go anymore. I went once with my parents a couple Christmases ago and haven't been back since. Just isn't my thing. If you truly believe in God, Jesus, or whatever you believe, you shouldn't have to go to church to affirm it if you don't want to.

I guess it all depends on the type of church. The one I go to a couple times a year does not judge at all. I heard people even show up in Panthers jersies on Sunday during the NFL season...course' I'd never know because I am either tailgating or watching pregame shows.

My mom has worn her Smitty signed panthers cap and a panthers sweatshirt to church. It was the year the panthers went to the superbowl. She was still in the choir at that time.
