anyone who wouldn't be utterly thrilled if we signed braylon edwards is out of his/her mind

Not really, he'd be possibly taking the place of somebody we really need.

Never said he was, he would be a great #2.

We need a number 1 since Smith is ready to abdicate the throne by taking aback seat or asking to be traded. At this point the only legitimate number 1 who is available is Burress and he carries a ton of baggage of his own. If we are going to settle for a 2 ie 3 then I would rather take a lower ranked guy like Lance Moore or Steve breaston who will be number 2s but won't break the bank. If we are looking for someone who knows Chud's offense how about Malcolm Floyd?? Another relatively cheap guy who could contribute.

All this "knowing Chudz's offense" is making me sick!

You do realize that you're talking about the WR position right??

Let's see here... Route running, blocking assignments, catch the ball and try to score...

Not fuggin rocket science... Plug n play a WR

Now with all that said if we didpick up Braylon I would support it. Just wouldn't be my choice, that's all...

Why u mad though?

I'm not even mad. I'm just pointing out things you clearly missed in your ignorance.

And did u really just try to compare a WR that had a QB to several WR's that did NOT have a QB?

Mark Sanchez is better than Moore, Clausen, STP,Pike combined. But Derke freaking Anderson is a god right? I mean he's WAAAAAY better than sanchez. By the way if you can't connect the dots, Anderson was there when Edwards had that "one year wonder".. So if he had a better season with Anderson and the browns and then had an ok season with the jets.. Hmm? Hey look at it this way, Cam Newton will be throwing to him. Isn't he your idol or something? What's the problem then buddy?

To those of you that have explained the game of football to me... Thanks!

I wouldn't know shyit without you guys (lmao)

Whatever helps you sleep at night man, belittling others opinions is a pass time of yours. He'll you're borderline arrogant. Scratch that, you are totally arrogant.

WR is not our biggest need... Read my post and let it marinate before u try and explain the game to me. I'm pretty sure that nobody on here is gonna teach me a damn thing about the game of football... Not being a prick, I'm just not gonna have someone act like they know more about football and then try to explain it to me when my wife knows more about the game than you do.

Stay classy guy, bringing in your wife into this. I'll hold the wife jokes because I rather not get personal with people. WR is one of our needs. DT, WR, CB, QB. Those are the pressing needs..

And yeah, I'd still take Plax over Braylon. He's proven and a hell of a lot more consistent... Plus he'll play for peanuts for the love of the game and just for the opportunity. See Michael Vick in Philly...Braylon is a drama queen... No thanks.

This alone shows me how arrogant and Ignorant you truly are. When you say you're not trying to be something, that is exactly what you're trying to be in the first place. No one is questioning your football "knowledge". If the rebuttal made you insecure that you had to confront me with this response, hey more power to ya bro. I didn't know you had to have credentials for football. I would actually like to know what gives you this sense of superiority of football knowledge over others, what is it?

By the way, it's okay to disagree. You're not going to change my mind so just let it be.

I realize it. I truly disagree with you. I wasn't even trying to change your mind, I've read plenty of your posts to know when you believe in something you will stick by it. I was simply pointing out something you might have missed, like Edwards not being that much of a sir drops a lot anymore. I enjoy debating, with you it's not debating. But seriously, stay classy dude. Good god.

U mad?

Nope not mad at all... In fact I'm bout to go to sleep...

I made a small comment about once again "WR not our most pressing need" and u felt the need to point out why BE doesn't drop balls anymore...

Yep, I'm arrogant when it comes to knowing football... No need for me to apologize. It's obvious that I know a Lil bit about it...

I will stay classy... And I believe we just did indeed have a debate..

No need to continue these shenanigans with you though... Especially since u referenced another one year wonder... Derek Anderson....

P.S. Cam's not my idol... But it would be really nice if he could be one day through his play for this organization... I've also read your posts, I know u like getting in the last word... So go get it.

Just so u know I hold no grudge against you whatsoever. U have your opinion, and I have mine... My point to what started all of this was missed by you btw... Defense should be our Biggest priority after signing our FA's... If we have money after that and we pick up BRaylon after that I'm good with it... Just not my first choice.

G'night

Not quite true, and you could argue especially not true in a Coryell attack.

Receivers at the pro level need to be able to read defenses too. Not quite to the level that quarterbacks do, mind you, but enough to know whether they should alter their route or perhaps even stay in and block to pick up a blitzer. They also need to learn to recognize the tendencies of defensive backs that cover them so they can find ways to exploit them.

And truthfully "receiver" isn't just one position. Depending on the offensive attack, your spot might be known as flanker, split end, slot receiver, X, Y, Z or something else.

Yeah, once in a while you have an athletic freak like Randy Moss who can just outrun almost everybody. For the most part though, receiver at the pro level isn't as simple as just lining up and going long.

^all very true... But basically it's what I said it was. You are correct as well and obviously went more in depth with a Fantastic analysis. I just wanted to keep it simple to prove a point. Well done. You are 100% correct.

Edit: I personally loved hearing "999" in the huddle, mostly in practice, but I loved it none the less.

I designed an offense for my buddy's youth flag football team (4 receivers, 2 backs, the coach plays quarterback) a few months back.

In the play diagrams, I used X-Box buttons to denote their positions. Figured I'd give them something they could relate to

Who said Edwards would be the Number 1 receiver? He'd help smith not get triple teamed. I think he'd be a great complementary Solid #2, has a Potential to be a #1 after Smith leaves. Besides in NY he's a solid #2. Smith and Edwards 1 and 2 punch.

If Smith stays we don't need Edwards. Gettis or Lafell are just as capable of having as good a season as Edwards and they are already signed. If Smith is gone then Edwards will be a poor substitute. We might have to go that direction but it would hardly be a good switch. If we are going to bring someone in I would be okay with Edwards if he were cheap. But I still like the scenario where we trade Smitty and a draft pick to San Diego for Vincent Jackson. As for free agents out there, Edwards wouldn't be my first choice unless he is cheap which I gather he wouldn't be.
