before free agency - "oh god we're going to suck without him when he leaves for atlanta!"

after free agency - "man we really overpaid for him!"

I'm just glad this will shut up all those "panthers are cheap" assholes out there. This contract is worth it because of that alone.

Just how much did you think it was going to take to keep CJ?

He was going to get paid somewhere, why not here?

Had to keep him, otherwise the Dline would be complete and utter garbage.

We aren't gonna be able to go after anyone after we re-sign Thomas Davis, Anderson and possibly Deangelo which is just dumb.

I have been telling folks for months that once we sign our core group of guys we will not have a ton of money for other free agents but will be able to land a few. Glad to see it finally dawned on you as well. This is not news or anything that isn't expected.

Do anybody have a estimate on how much room we got left to sign Deangelo Willams and a couple of other guys.

Why the hell else would CJ stay in Carolina if not money? Hell why would any star? You sound delusional about your team. This is the price of last year. We aren't a winning team or even an average team. We are a small market team. Luckily set up so we are worth more money and money is what we have. We already have a leader on defense, there isn't room for two and Beason will not leave this team I'd bet money.

Get over it. Yes it is alot. Had to do it, too many reasons not too. If anything Dwill is the one not to lock up.

We have plenty of cap room this year, that is not really an issue. For example we will pay CJ roughly 32 million in salary counting the signing bonus and his salary in 2011 but he only counts 6 or 7 million against the cap.
