Since we now know that CJ got this hugh contract. Could this mean Dwill might be gone. Because if CJ got this hugh of a contract. Just wonder what Dwill is going to ask for. The panthers still have to extend TD contract and have to resign Anderson aswell. Plus then they need to sign a solid CB and DT to help out on D and sign rookies aswell. I'm getting the feeling we might not be able to resign him because he might ask for a bigger contract then CJ just got. We do you think??

You can't compare a DE contract to a RB contract.. they are disimilar. My guess is DWill get's a 5 year deal for $28 mil, and $13mil guaranteed.

Michael Turner got $5.6mil a year with Atlanta and $15 mil guaranteed. So I assume it will look something like this.

His agent wouldn't use a contract at another position as a benchmark.

If he is gone, it doesn't hurt us that much. Rb is one of our strongest positions.

Since DJ has a history of injury, his contract with be incentive based.

A DE and a RB are on two VERY different pay scales. DeAngelo isn't a money ***** and he knows that he won't be making that kind of money as a RB unless every time he touches the ball its a touchdown. We will offer DeAngelo a very generous contract and he will sign. Then when all of you see the details, I'm sure most of you will cry and say we overpaid for him. So just calm down, and be happy we kept our DE. DeAngelo will be taken care of.

CJ's deal will NOT keep us from signing DeAngelo. If he signs somewhere else, it will be because we don't want to pay the money someone else does, not because we can't.
