Did Hurney do a good job in FA?

We had this massive amount of cap space and we blew threw it like crazy resigning guys from a 2-14 team. The actual new players we added aren't that impressive. This is Hurneys MO in FA though. Resign your own guys at all costs, new players just bring in a bunch of cheap no name guys and hope they work out.

For field goals, Mare is a downgrade, flat out.

Do some research. Mare's FG percentage is like .7 or something off of Kasay.

Hurney did a great job given how Richardson played things the past 2 years. For example if Richardson lets Hurney sign Williams last year instead of this year he could have gotten him for a good discount. The same for CJ. By waiting until this year the prices rose plus CJs big year in 2010 put his price tag in the stratosphere. Sure it was safer to sign him after you know the lockout is over but then you had a free for all and all the teams felt the same way.

In the end we spent all the money we saved last year and then some. Hurney had little choice but to spend whatever it took to keep our own guys. After the crappy season last year failing to keep guys like CJ would have been seen as a big setback as we could not have picked anyone close to his ability and would have seriously hurt McDermott's defense. Plus it would have confirmed to fans and players that Richardson was not serious about winning. Really we had less choice than the haters think.

Who thinks that Richardson is not serious about winning now?? Who believes that Richardson is cheap?? This was a loud and clear message that Richardson is back and serious about being competitive and will do whatever he has to do to acheive his goal. Given how he played things last year, this is the best he could do.

And what exactly is to keep these big stars here in Charlotte other than overpaying them? a 2-14 'team' as you say? lol oh how close minded people are...
