Who's better Cotchery or Naanee?

Seriously? In 2009 Cotchery's season totals were better then Naane's career.

Naanee is younger and a more physical receiver v. Cotchery. Cotchery is going to want a lot bigger contract and he is 2 years older.

Cotchery will be a charger, I think.

With Floyd re-signing, this ship has sailed.

Most definitely. I was shocked to see Floyd re-sign with them.

interesting.... cotchery was released after he asked to be released. he had asked to be traded in february. the problem is that he was doing this after he had a surgery on his back. he started off training camp on the PUP list and the jets reported to the league yesterday that he had failed his physical.

Cotchery had completed three years of a five-year, $19 million deal. He was scheduled to earn a $1.8 million base salary in 2011 and $2 million base salary in 2012. In February, Cotchery was concerned that his diminished role as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards would hurt him in his attempt to get a contract extension, according to a source. The Jets wanted Cotchery to play out his contract that was set to expire after the 2012 season.

A source said that Rex Ryan attempted to convince Cotchery to stay with the team on several occasions.

“I probably saw it coming for a little while,” Ryan said. “But I guess I never wanted to admit it.”

As recently as this week, Ryan said that he tried to convince Cotchery to reconsider, but it didn’t work. (On Thursday, Cotchery's failed physical was turned into the league by the team). "He didn't want to be here any more," another source told the News. "He felt disrespected and underappreciated."
Mason’s visit “was not the reason” that Cotchery was gone, according to Ryan.

Cotchery, 29, began training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform List after undergoing off-season back surgery after playing the past couple seasons with a herniated disk.
