I got so mad that I quit being a fan for like 2 weeks last season. I realized it's impossible for me to root for another team and I'm going to stick with this team through thick and thin. So I don't care if Cam bombs or not, I'll be here.

You band wagoners and Cam huggers have fun for now, the rest of us know we are the better fans.

You know what I hate? People that come on here to say, "I'm a better fan than you, because...".

If that applies to you or the OP, you might want to consider what it is that makes you a judge of who is a worthy fan and who is not.

Can we redeem SWAG points for Panthers merchandise or something else of tangible value? If not, it really doesn't mean much.

When I first got here a few weeks ago, I confessed my sin of formerly being a Falcon's fan.

But, even then, I always respected Jerry Richardson.

I also always had a world of respect for Ron Rivera (wanting, at that time, the Falcons to hire Rivera when they hired Mike Smith).

Add on to that my long-time distaste for that oily-as-hell Arthur Blank, my tiring of the "Matty Ice" legend when he hasn't accomplished jack squat, and then the Falcon's continuing, year after year, to try to build a team from the skill positions out and ignoring the building blocks (OL and DL).

Then, when Carolina drafted Cam, I looked at what I liked in the NFL and what I didn't like and asked myself "Why am I here?" (with regard to the Falcons).

And decided NO GOOD REASON.

I actually liked and admired more things about the Carolina organization than I did my supposed "favorite team".

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm an Auburn alum and die-hard Cam fan so that had a lot to do with it.

But there were LOTS of reasons I decided to switch.

And I sure as hell don't intend to switch back.

this is so gay.

As far as I'm concerned, all new fans are welcome.

Also, when was the last time you saw Cam Newton fail on a football field?

I hope they never leave because that will mean that he did fail. I don't want to see any of our players fail...even Pickles. I want some tick marks in the "w" column please.

I believe that you can trade SWAG to JR for ownership in the team. And if you can't, you should be able to. They need it now more than ever.

Actually many fans of the Panthers were fans of another team before the Panthers became a franchise in 1995. I was an Eagles fan. So I made the change because I moved from PA to NC. Other folks did for a number of reasons. THose who changed loyalties because of a coach or player are no less legitimate than if you grew up here or always rooted for the Panthers. As a fanbase we should embrace fans for whatever reason. He may have started rooted for us because of Newton but might stay if he likes what he sees.

Honestly I don't understand people being negative about new fans as long as they don't troll or purposefully antagonize others. Then again if we got rid of "true" panther fans who still feel a need to antagonize others, this board would be much smaller as well.

I dont mind the bandwagoners....cmon, jump on....there's always room.

Problem is that many fairweathers don't leave like they threaten to do. They continue to whine and complain and threaten to leave. Honestly if they just left like they promised, they wouldn't be a long term problem, LOL.
