if you don't love a challenge then blow yourself up like others who have no hope or guts do.

sure things are bad, but these are the times that tries men's souls. its what movies and legends are about.

lets all nut up and just do what we need to do. it will take some time but it can get better.

If we don't bring back industry and manufacturing to the US no matter what anyone does things won't get better.

Good question, one companies need to start asking.

I'm a tech guy so it industrial revitalization isn't really my strength. As China/India's economy strengthens the playing field will even out more than it is now. This country built itself on industry and now we rely on other countries. Gotta make them rely on us more than just blowing poo up.

Very simple. Reduce the cost of doing business in the US. The jobs left in the first place due to the cost of doing business here.

Now?

The world has been a "global economy" since antiquity. The silk road, the spice route, the amber road...

Seriously, this is economics 101... as long as you are importing more goods than exporting, the impact on domestic economic balance is negative.

This is why Governments put Tariffs in place. The cost of doing business in foreign markets will be widely different depending on labor laws and social configurations (i.e. forced labor and poor working conditions). With those factors, labor cost reductions will create a more "profitable" enterprise overseas. By not upcharging these foreign markets to enter their goods into our domestic market, we're fuging ourselves.

And does it not bother ANY of you, that your shoes were probably made by a 12 year old girl who has stuck her fingers so many times she probably doesn't have feeling in the tips anymore, and probably works more hours than many Americans?

Or that your iPad was put together by a Chinese man who owns nothing but a small number of personal effects, and has no vote or say in how his life is governed?

There is a place for global economics, but it has to be BALANCED by import control. Bush Sr. and Clinton, and every congress and President since... has seen to the removal of those controls. And our crisis will not be over until Free Trade is curbed. (It can continue... just needs to be market balanced).

LOL, while you mock our experience... you prove the point...

No one is starting any Textile plants in this country... because they wouldn't get funding since we import almost all of our clothes now.

Democrat votes are tied directly to entitlement programs and spending. Don't look for eagerness on their part to cut anything. Blaming and fear are about all the ammo they have left. They have never had any ideas.

You are correct but:

Republican votes are tied directly to tax cuts and spending. Don't look for eagerness on their part to cut anything. Blaming and fear are about all the ammo they have left. They have never had any ideas.

The problem is neither side seems to be able to see the forest for the trees...
