Offensive Line Rankings, Panthers at #3

That would be huge if they could achieve such a rating. It's like a double-bonus: keep our QB's uniform clean and open holes for the backs!

What I like is that we will have some depth when injuries occur as they always do. Gil Brandt said it well last night when he was talking about Otah while at Panther camp for NFl Sirius. Gill said that when Otah realizes that all good football players learn to play through pain, he will be fantastic. Somehow I think that Rivera will put up with less than Fox did. Fox seemed to always side on being overly cautiousand sympathetic while Rivera strikes me as more no-nonsense and a "suck it Up" and play kind of guy.

But if he wimps out like last year, Ziemba can handle his duties as can Schwartz. Bernadeau and Williams offer depth but not much as far as starters based on last year although Williams wasn't bad.

Everyone in our division made the top ten. NFCS is the toughest / best division in the NFL.

That's funny.

Jtgreensboro has told me both Gross and Wharton suck.

hard to take someone's opinion seriously if he would argue that jordan gross sucks

at any rate, surprised the line is this high though, i do believe it is quite good

edit: my bad, he didn't actually say that.i should read the thread before i post :(

We can't be #3, we have the least talented team in the NFL.

i know how much stock to put into it but it's kind of nice that arizona's o-line is ranked 32nd.

I can't understand why Bernadeau is starting... surely Schwartz or Ziemba are better options at RG?

Ziemba and Schwartz are both more natural tackles than they are guards.

Tackles usually work against ends where speed is more of an issue and footwork is paramount. Guards work against the DTs where size and strength are more important than speed. It takes an adjustment to go from tackle to guard which you would think is no big deal given they line up right next to one another. But look at Wharton who was not that great at tackle but is actually a lot more of a natural guard. He has the size and power but not that great footwork or balance.

A guy who has both is Ziemba. I would think that we could run like crazy if we had Ziemba lined up next to Otah. They would make for a pretty nasty combination. Two roadgraders lined up next to each other.
