He deserved every penny.

It happens everywhere. I understand the need for rules, but there is no governing body NCAA included capable of reigning in the financial beast college football has become.

It's hard to know where to start. Big-time boosters in college football are the equivalent of the special interest groups and lobbyists in our political system. Both have gotten too powerful and too engrained in the system to easily eradicate.

Heck, I remember seeing Rodney White driving around UNC-Charlotte in a pimped out Expedition with rims when I was in school there. It does happen everywhere, and the more big-time the program, the more rampant it is.

Dead presidents do rule the world.

UNCC's Demarco Johnson had a nice Benz his senior year.

Hell Guys at Fayetteville State(CIAA) were getting direct deposits for "mowing the field" which they never did...

Ur screwed if you pay players as much as you if you dont...but for those who sit there saying I cannot support a cheater..then ur from another time that does not currently exist.

Look at the TV money...you go for the win first...graduation and cheating will always be secondary.

Instead of a salary or payment from the university itself, why don't they just let these kids make money off their own personal endorsement deals and sponsorships? Or give them all a piece of that EA Sports NCAA 12 money if their likeness is in it. Or give them a percentage of jersey sale money or something.

Some of the stuff the NCAA is against is ridiculous to me. If I play football at a D1 school and a tattoo artist wants to give me free tats for promoting his shop, I really don't see why that is bad at all?

I remember I used to always go to parties at Berkeley in my early-mid 20's. Religiously. I talked to a lot of people that had classes with guys like DeSean Jackson or Marshawn and a slew of other guys and they'd say how the guys rarely even came to class and they'd show up deep in a stretch limo when they'd go to even smaller house parties. I know they weren't paying for that stuff.

It's called the media; lying, cheating or any dirty laundry in general is worth putting in the news.

There's investigations and then there's this. Paying for prostitution, abortion and bounties on opposing QB's?

Yeah.

Reggie Bush' parents got free rent for a house in San Diego and several years later it came to light. The Trojans had to abandon wins, suffer scholarship losses and 2 years bowl restrictions.
Then you have schools like Ohio State and Miami where the NCAA prolly will do less to the schools. The NCAA needs to be abolished in favor of a new ruling body.

Somone would have thrown cash, girls, cars, etc in my face in college and I would have done the same thing.

Someone throws cash, girls and cars at me for doing what I love to do anyway, and I'm taking it.

And I am way past college age.

Show me where the yacht is docked and I am there in a heartbeat.

I am all for the NCAA trying to keep college ball fair and competitive. But since I am not a huge college football fan, I can't say I care much about a players actions or decisions while in college. I care about their playing ability, and their character. These are both evaluated by coaches and scouts, so I trust in them to make the right decisions when drafting players.

However, it is very easy to understand how people can despise these kind of actions, because players who make decisions against NCAA regulations affect their schools, not just themselves. It is very selfish to undermine the NCAA when the ramifications can damage a schools reputation and accomplishments, as well as affect other players.
