What are the chances we will be able to lock up J-Stew long term? It is likely because we locked up DeAngelo, J-Stew will eventually be playing for another team. (The only way I see these guys staying together is if J-Stew just want to stay here versus being paid as a number one guy) So would any of you be upset if we traded him to get a quality starter at cornerback and some draft picks?

Yes shitface.

I love to read some of y'alls logic..

DWill is practically god's son, who actually misses games due to injuries, but Stew can't take on a full load because he's injury prone despite missing 2 games in 3 seasons..

some of you are really fuging stupid..

if we traded JStew, we would be left with Goodson on the field most of the time when DWill is carted off.. how's that improve our team?

Yes, very.

We should have let Dwill walk, and gone after JJ instead. We would still have a solid backfield, and wouldn't have just given an aging back top end money.

truth.. for those stil living in denial, it'll become more evident.. it's nice to have DWill on the team, he's a beast.. however, there are certain positions you spend cap space on and those you ALWAYS rebuild through the draft..

RB is one of those.. however, since we did spend the money, hopefully (as Panthro mentioned) we'll be able to restructure his deal in 2 years..

he's a smart cat, I think he'll go for it.. we'll end up paying Stew about the same as DWill...

Unless we trade Stewart for a high draft pick, and use that pick to get another running back. :)

But unless someone makes a ridiculous offer for Stewart, no we should not trade him.

agreed, considering there's no way in hell that happens though.. we should keep Stew.

my point is if we were going to trade anyone, it would be the older fella who just received a big contract and actually misses games..

maybe in 2 years, we can trade DWill and receive some value.. that is the goal people should put in the forefront of their mind.. receive value before you release non-value..

we aren't marrying these players, if you want success, you replenish your roster with youth (which requires coaching)

Just hold off til next year to make a decision on J-Stew.

How about instead of trading J-Stew. We trade Goodson for veteran DT Corey Williams(Detroit Lions) and a mid to late round pick. Lets say a 5th- 6th. They are in dire straits for a quality RB w/ their top running going down with an torn achilies. It leaves them with only 1 quality running back left.

This would fill our need for a veteran DT, and give Detroit the RB they need. A win/win situation. Back-up RB = Vet DT & draft pick.

This is from excerpts from an article by: AUTHOR: Seth McConnell at Cat Crave Titled: "To Bulk Up the Defensive Line, Detroit’s Corey Williams Would Make Sense. Plus a couple of my own thoughts.

some of you really think goodson has trade value?

wow.

an rb who can't hold onto the ball is like that retarded bird on Rio who couldn't fly.

nobody is going to trade for a 3rd string rb with a bad case of fumblitis.

nobody.

Everybody has trade value.

Yes.

Williams could easily but cut in the next 2-3 years.

I wise man by the name of Steve Smith once said, "I aint as good as you guys. Two heads are better than one. I'm just riding y'alls coat-tails."

That about sums it up.

This is very true. My thoughts is Hurney will (or has) front loaded D-Wills contract and when it comes time to resigns stewart it will not be a huge salary cap hit on us. Then being able to sign Stewart to a similar contract.

If he is so bad... having fumblitis and all... why should "we" keep him. move Sutton to 3rd string.

at some point and time the posters here have said that he could be a starter on another team.

Goodson has a lot of starting potential.. if he can hold onto the ball, there should be very little doubt in his abilities..

Most agree, trading Stewart with the QB situation we have in Carolina would not be a good idea.We need a run game this season while our QB develop and i hope that Williams and stewart stay healthy this season would like to see 1,200+yds each .Double Trouble must stay!!! :)

Very upset, they need to get him a nice new contract when his rookie deal is up.
