More on Beason.

"We're still hoping for the opener," Rivera said today. "It was to alleviate the discomfort. As he goes through the rehab portion of it these next few days, then we'll see how he is has he's running around."

Panthers coach Ron Rivera characterized the surgery as a "minor procedure that's going to set him back about a week."

Jimmy did hurt his elbow against Dolphins.

Quarterback Jimmy Clausen is questionable for Thursday's game at Cincinnati due to soreness in his throwing elbow, which he bruised last week against the Dolphins.

A complete ACL tear is a lot different than "minor surgery"

Missing a game is missing a game.

Besides, I'm just doing what Panthers fans do. You know... overreacting.

why wait till now for this minor surgery? we knew a month ago about this issue.

That isn't how injuries work. You don't go doing surgeries unless they are necessary. It probably wasn't necessary a few weeks ago. Injuries progress. I highly doubt his achilles was in the exact same shape weeks ago.

Otah, Ziemba, Swartz = Oline collapse again this week.

yeah, thats the only thing that has me bothered this week. not exactly an ideal situation for your rookie QBs first planned outing.

trial by fire, i suppose.

D should be able to give us a good idea of what they got....the Miami game w/ so many out wasn't realistic preview.

Yep, I assume he'll be on AJ Green all day. Since the coaches want him on the top WR.

I thought it was the Giants game with so many starters out on D. Against the Dolphins, didn't everyone get reps except Gamble and Beason?

Gamble and Captain both sat if I recall. I think that had a lot to do w/ Henne looking like Manning.

You can't guard Brandon Marshall w/ your 3rd and 4th string CBs. I think being so weak in the secondary against a top WR made life hard on the entire D. No excuse for the D this week w/ only Beason out.

hmm, I didn't realize Capt played......thanks. Now I am more worried about our D. Had been telling myself both sat that game.
