The team looked like they cared and were playing hard in the Giants game. The last two they didn't seem to have the same fire.

an inferior site has some well thought out fan threads, as opposed to half the poo on the huddle. What an inferior site lacks that the huddle does have, is boobs and dickjokes.

That being said, I must agree, though the game was frustrating to watch and Cam looked average, I was happy with his progression as well. Preseason isn't about stats, especially for being a rookie under a rookie coach with a new OC trying to install a new gameplan for our offense in a shortened offseason due to a lockout etc.

Those expecting Cam to come out like Manning, go kill yourselves. Your contributions aren't needed.

Those expecting Cam to struggle, but looking for "flashes", you are the real fans. Flashes such as the almost TD pass to Smitty and the rope to Clowney that called back (from our own goal line for that matter). Flashes like the perfect deep ball to Olsen or the rollout to Shockey. Those were nice. The 3rd down conversion to Naanee, that was sweet as well. That TD was electric! The other long scamper was exciting. Those are called flashes. Flashes are what Jimmy failed to show last season.

Great post dude, although your wasting your time, because the haters just don't get it.

I am heavily immersed in reality, for the record, but I fuggin hate losing football games. It is difficult for me to accept that this team is going to struggle to win all season - but that is reality. I don't have to like it though.

Good gawd almighty I had to log in to rep you. Great post. The only thing you left out is Cam did this behind a second rate o-line performance. Other than that, well said.

I think I watched a different game than him because I only saw cam set his feet and throw maybe 5 times the whole game.

I think they noted the difference between throwing off his back foot.....and being forced into it. Which did happen a couple times. Definately didn't throw off his back foot every time but 5

I was exaggerating, but i'm not talking about throwing off his back foot, i'm just talking about him not even setting his feet and just winging the ball in there as hard as he could with only his upper body. I could just tell when his throws weren't going to be anywhere close to where they needed to be as soon as he let go of his passes last night.

and I know, i know, he's only a rookie, blah blah blah, i'm not hating on him guys, I'm just saying you sure as hell could tell he's a rookie from his play the past few games. he shows more flashes of greatness than jimmy, i'm not arguing that, that's why i like cam better, i just don't think he needs to see the field until he gets his mechanics in check. the only problem with that is we don't have a viable option to start in his place really... so basically, we will probably throw cam in the deep end and hope he figures out how to swim, instead of drown like jimmy.

Now is NO time for optimism...Now is the time for panic and regurgitation, fear and anxiety, loathing and depression...After all, It's preseason!

pretty much.

many are in full on panic mode and already think the season is totally lost, the team made a mistake in either drafting cam or in just thinking he could start, that rivera was a bad hire, or at the very least that the 3rd preseason game is indicative of how the whole season is going to go.

there is no stopping people irrationally hitting the panic button. the only thing that is going to stop the doom and gloom and the outright pissy attitudes coming out is for this team to win. i'm not going to try and change their minds, though. honestly the team deserves a lot of it. stats may improve and the team may seem to be connecting better, but the only thing that is going to matter is for this team to win. not win everything...just enough games to know that this isn't going to be a repeat of last year.

some of us are able to sit back and look at the big picture and be patient. good for us. i don't expect everyone to be like that, though...quite the opposite. it's easier to think that everything has already fallen apart...that way you don't have to put off what you may think is inevitable...disappointment. why get your hopes up if all that is going to happen is that they are just going to fall? i think life is too short to approach it like that, but i can understand the faint of heart already getting on with the fainting and getting it over with.

this year isn't going to be easy, it had a huge chance of being ugly considering new coach, new system, young team, rookie QB, no OTAs, holes on both sides of the ball (RG, RT, DT, CB) and coming off a 2-14 season. you can either bail on the team or stick with it.

if you stick with it, though...you can go through the year just pissed off or just appreciate it for what it really is...a young team and a new coach building a new team and understanding that there are going to be dumb mistakes along the way and a lot of growing pains. if you can keep it in the proper perspective this season will not be as painful as you may make it out to be.

Good post. Cam deserves the patience we gave Clausen last year. We have to prove were capable of that for a qb like Cameron.

We gave Clausen patience last year? Really?

You don't want Cam to get the same treatment that Clausen got, and is still getting. Hell, people are blaming Clausen for Cam not having a good tutor. WTF.

Like I said before I worry more about the lines then I do the QB. Get the Oline playing right and the Dline penetrating right and we will see the QB progress.
