Well in my opinion a talented player seeing the field for 13 games a year or so is better than having a less talented player play all of them.. I mean that's just the way I see it..Hayden's a decent CB, who also had one thing only one other CB on our roster has-size. Take out Gamble and we've got the Midget Patrol at the CB position. Not that I don't think Cap is a good CB, I just think he's better suited in the Nickel. I don't want to have to find out the hard way he ain't cut out for the starting job.

you'll have to take all of that up with Hurney.. I think him being injury prone and just an average CB says quite a bit after only 1 team out of 50 gave him a big 1 year contract..

just sayin.. ;)

with all that said, I don't think it's a dumb idea to wait and see what better options are available.. especially any younger talent with more upside.. when you talked with Hayden, are you sure he said he didn't want to sign with us for 1 year? (I kid..)

Hurney is an idiot. That's obvious. The problem is, it was said yesterday that hurney was smarter than every poster on this board. We're freaking really dumb.

yeah, because you sure just proved us wrong! lol

no doubt Hurney makes questionable decisions.. fans expect perfection. curious where that idea ever came from, besides armchair GMs..

Hurney may not bring any F/A 's in !

Yeah posters want this guy or that guy

But Rivera is in his 1st season as a teaching coach with hand picked teaching coaches,he may want to teach what he has.

The expectation bar will never be as low as it is now .
Rivera needs to win more than 2 games to improve the team

And ever season after he will need to win more games to show improvement

So the plan could be teach what you have ,win 3 games ,and get a top 10 pick next draft.

Will not help ticket sales or give fans that 1 season turn around
But could establish a very solid and young Rivera team

While giving a full season of deciding which FOX players will not fit Rivera's system.

I was listening to Gil Brandt on NFL network tonight and he was talking about the Panthers. He was talking about Clausen not being starter material in the NFL but the germaine part to this discussion was that he said Hurney over the last 5 years has drafted more players who are starting for us than any team in the NFL. Whe it comes to stats he usually knows more than most so I would believe him. But it belies the fact that Hurney makes poor drafting decisions and attests to the fact that he sticks to his philosophy to build through the draft. It pays off most of the time. Maybe he isn't going to bring anyone in at CB but go with who we have. After all what will a slightly better CB give us, 1 more win. We aren't talking Revis here but a guy few others even wanted to pick up.

Ok.
Gil brandt says Hurney drafts good. His boys start more often than other teams. He likes who he has and won't bring in a CB unless he is real good :D

Maybe they still believe Gamble is as good as many who post here do, and that Captain is an NFL player instead of a practice one.

And you've done oh so much to prove your point with something more than inane rambling.

To the people foolishly saying that the Panthers front office isn't doing they're Job and everything, first off enough with people making out like the only reason we don't have them is because the front office is either not trying hard enough or doesn't know better, the thought of this is down right laughable, and I laugh at you and your foolish assumptions.

Hate to break it to you guys but the people in the Panthers front office know more about football in they're right pinky finger then 99% of the people on this message board.

it's no secret that the Panthers need help at CB and trust me they are probably trying but look at it this way if you had the option to go the Falcons which are for a NFCS team about as close to a lock to going to the playoffs as you can get or go to the Panthers who will probably finish last in they're division even if you went there, where would you go??

They would go to the Falcons every time.

hate to break it to you guys but Carolina isn't a very desirable place to be right now, we are going to have to pay out the ass to keep players or even to just get them to take a look.

the only move I can't fully agree with that the Panthers have made this offseason was paying D-Will what we did, now before you jump all over me D-will is my favorite Panther and would have hated to see him leave, but with that said we still had Stewart and could have really used a top end WR or DT more then him.

If we're going with what we've got, this is gonna be a long season. Our best corner got beat three times, in the same game, by a rookie WR. WTH

I'm sure Hurney will make moves this weekend. Everyone hates the man for trading draft picks for players, then hates him for waiting until final cuts to pick up guys with no strings attached. It's a lose lose for Hurney. GM is a suck job.

The good news being: after going 2-14 we can really go up from here.
