Very possible, because we still don't have enough of a sample to justify Kolb's deal/contract.

I usually don't get into the "they didn't talk about us" stuff either, but Cowherd just irks me because he does it to ALL non-big market teams, not just us. He just seems to talk himself up a lot and then ties stuff into big markets/cities to endear himself to them.

And in this case, while Kolb is a big story, Cam is the only rookie Qb starting this week to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't been keeping up with all of the others but I'm pretty sure they have someone in front of them for this week at least), and it just so happens Pennington is working the game with Kolb AND Cam. So, the bigger story? Debatable. Mention worthy, yes.

That was my problem, I wanted to hear him break it down from both sides.

You have to understand that a bad rookie starting for a bad team just isn't that newsworthy.

No one outside of Charlotte thinks Cam has had even a decent preseason yet we think he's been great. No one thinks we're going to win 5 games yet a lot here think we'll win 10.

It's news to us, but the rest of the country could care less about us and Cam, until he proves something. He's not making that much money, we aren't playoff contenders, we just simply aren't important.

Cam isn't like Bradford or Manning starting week 1 because no one expects him to do well because they know he's this long term project, yet we see him as a plug and play guy.

Perspective, I guess.

Dalton is starting I think.

You can hate it all you want, but that's the way it is.

Whether wrong or right is yet to be seen.

He just doesn't have the hoopla other rookies did because of the perception people have of him right now.

People want to see the 60 million dollar man, not the 20 million dollar man.

What's wrong is you claiming he's a "bad rookie."

What's also wrong is claiming national media has no interest in Cam or how he does because our team sucks, he doesn't make much money, and still hasn't proven anything.

That's all biased opinion TRD.

No need to get into all of it again, but that's not what's going on here... And since when did preseason determine whether a guy was good or bad?

DeAngelo's numbers sucked this preseason, I guess he fell off the RB cliff, no need to pay any attention to him now. Wait... He makes a lot of money, okay, yeah, he's cool.

We're talking about a #1 pick, Heisman and National Championship winning QB, who the media certainly cared about throughout the college season and during the draft process... Yet, today, he's irrelevant?

Nope. Sorry.

So why did they talk about him so much on the Herd today?

So why did they talk about him so much on the Herd today?

Same reason he was a lead story on Sportscenter after being named the starter for week 1?

Same reason all the other ESPN shows talk about him?

Same reason why you were making this biased, jaded argument NFL Network just had two analysts (Baldinger and Heath Evans) talking about how excited they were to see Cam play and that his athletic ability will take over and allow him to have success this year and how he will be successful long-term, it'll just take time?

Cowherd is a joke. Point made.

Got it.

Do you often make threads about, listen to, and watch people you don't respect or care about?

Only if they may talk about something I have interest in (my team or players on it, for example) and have an interesting take on it or offer some different perspective on it. This douche sends out a tweet saying Pennington will be breaking down "young guns" and he happens to be commentating our game this week. Seems like a good chance to talk about Kolb, Cam, Dalton, etc., yet he doesn't even mention any rookie QBs by name? None. Then he talks about veteran QBs on big market teams...

You can stop trolling this thread now, the opportunity is gone.

BTW, please remind me what was the almighty choosen season record of Peyton Manning during his rookie season? Let me help u,

Manning was certainly a bright spot in 1998 for the Colts, but he also threw a league high 28 interceptions as the team struggled to a 3–13 record,

...so if Cam can take the Panthers to 4 or 5 win season and very few interceptions, does that make him better than Peyton as a rookie? Something tells me not because Cam will never be given a break no matter what he does by folks like u who will continually expect him to do more and more to "prove himself." Because in your eyes, he way to sub-par of a QB based on WHAT???? Anything u can find to satisfy your personal hate for the kid.
